Day 1: Virtual Yoga Retreat - Meditation - Yoga Video

Hey everyone! I'm Caroline and this is Day 1 of the Virtual Yoga Retreat. Today we are easing in with a short meditation practice to start. Meditation really helps me when I feel agitated or I have a lot of stress and anxiety building up. Meditation scientifically soothes the nervous system and decreases the frequency of our brain waves! Sometimes we don't want to sit with ourselves and listen to our thoughts, it can be scary to sit with our mind especially when we're emotional about something that's happening to us, so ease into it. You can use a timer on your phone (I recommend Insight Timer which is an app). Choose how long you want to sit for, it can be 3 minutes starting out and you can progress to 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes. Maybe you'll really find some peace from meditation and sit for an hour! It helps me dive into my creativity, it allows me time for prayer and connection with the divine, and overall makes me feel calmer and connected to my highest self.
