Ayurveda, the ancient science of longevity lays great emphasis on prevention of disease to maintain good health Each season has a different effect on our bodies. The knowledge of Ritucharya, regimen for various seasons is critical to understand in order to prevent derangement of homeostasis. Dakshinayana indicates the time when the sun starts to move towards the south bringing in the warmer months, Vasanta (Spring), Grishma (Summer), and Varsha (Monsoon).
