many people who practice yoga favor the septic diet given its fruits in ayurveda a medicinal system that originated in india over five thousand years ago followers of the septic diet primary consumed nutritious foods including fresh seasonal produce and nuts so what is the sap diet the serpent diet is a high fiber low-fat vegetarian diet followed by many yoga enthusiasts apparently in the practice of yoga there are three types of foods that have varying qualities and health effects these are satwik rajyazik and tamazik the word satwik means pure essence and suffix foods are thought to be pure and balanced offering feelings of calmness happiness and mental clarity budgeting foods are described as overstimulating and thomasic foods are believed to increase weakness and laziness out of the three types stuffing foods are considered the most nutritious and staffing diets are associated with a high intake of micronutrients according to ayurveda the stupid diet is the best choice for promoting longevity physical strength and mental health ayurveda recommends eating predominantly static foods and avoiding logistic and tamasic foods animal proteins fried foods stimulants like caffeine and white sugar are just some of the foods that are excluded when following a static dietary pattern so what are the potential health benefits the sap diet is rich in nutrient-dense foods and low in processed foods for these reasons it may offer many health benefits number one eating seasonally by eating seasoning you get to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables at its best which means better value better taste and better nutritional content number two it promotes whole nutrient dense foods the static diet is based on consuming whole nutritious foods including vegetables fruits beans and nuts and we all need to have more plant-based foods in our diets why well eating these nutrient-dense plant-based foods provide protein healthy fats fiber vitamins minerals and antioxidants that are essential for maintaining proper bodily function the statefit diet discourages the consumption of fried and processed foods research has shown that diets high in ultra processed foods are known to harm overall health and significantly increase the risk of numerous diseases number three it may reduce chronic disease risk no research has been conducted on the statefix diet specifically but it is well known that diets promoting whole nutrient-dense foods generally reduce the overall risk of developing chronic conditions including diabetes heart disease and certain cancers studies looking at vegetarian dietary patterns have shown to offer protective effects against chronic disease development for example vegetarian diets are associated with significantly lower levels of heart disease risk factors like high blood pressure and high ldl the bad cholesterol additionally vegetarian dietary patterns may protect against diabetes and colorectal cancer also the foods that are included in the static diet including beans vegetables fruits and nuts can help to decrease the risk of chronic diseases number four weight loss the stateful diet is rich in fiber and plant foods which may help promote weight loss why well studies have shown that people who follow vegetarian dietary patterns typically have lower body mass index and less body fat compared with non-vegetarians many studies have also shown that vegetarian diets promote weight loss in overweight individuals this may be due to several factors including the higher fiber content and reduced calorie density of vegetarian diets are there any side effects with following this diet although the stat feed diet offers many benefits there are some drawbacks to consider number one nutrient deficiencies while the start besides is rich in nutrient-dense foods it cuts out many healthy foods for example it cuts out meats poultry fish and eggs all of which are excellent sources of protein healthy fats and various micronutrients meat poultry and fish supply good amounts of protein and omega-3 fatty acids as well as micronutrients like zinc selenium iron and vitamin b12 other animal products like dairy and eggs also contain plenty of calcium vitamin d and b vitamins when cutting meats or other animal products from your diet it's important to ensure you're getting these essential nutrients from other sources also the sacred diet excludes foods that are considered roger zick or tamazek while some foods in these categories such as high fat fry foods and added sugars are considered unhealthy and we need to try and cut down on many of them are not for example radishes chili peppers onions and mushrooms are off limit but provide good sources of nutrients deficiencies of certain nutrients can lead to fatigue headaches memory loss body pains and feeling generally unwell number two unsustainable by cutting out certain foods it may make it harder to stick to in the long term if you're a coffee drinker and enjoy your meat then the stat bit diet may make this easy pattern difficult to follow although the step beside principles are based on ayurveda beliefs they are not necessarily based on scientific research therefore some of the restrictions are likely unnecessary what foods can you eat you can only eat foods approved in the static diet in general the following foods can be eaten liberally on the static diet these include all vegetables like spinach carrots potatoes peas and cauliflower or fruits like apples bananas mangoes melon and berries grains like barley burger kima and wild rice all types of nuts and seeds including coconut products fats and oils like olive oil sesame oil and ghee dairy products like milk yogurt and paneer legumes and bean products like lentils mung beans chickpeas bean sprouts and tofu beverages which include water fruit juice and non-caffeinated herbal tea static spices and herbs so these are things like coriander basil nutmeg cumin and turmeric ginger and sweeteners such as honey and jaggery what foods do you need to avoid the stepback diet discourages the consumption of foods that are in their budget zig or time is it category that means the most animal products highly processed foods refined sugar and fried foods are off limits the foods to avoid include added sugar and sweets these include white sugar high fructose corn syrup candy and soda fried foods such as french fries fried vegetables fried pastries processed foods like chips sugary breakfast cereals fast food frozen dinners and microwave meals refined grain products like white bread bagels cakes and cookies meats fish eggs and poultry so these include chicken beef turkey duck lamb fish and shellfish and whole eggs egg whites animal brace products like collagen certain vegetables and fruits such as onion scallions pickles and garlic certain beverages such as alcohol sugary drinks and caffeinated beverages like coffee also foods that are overly sour salty or spicy should be avoided as well as staple foods such as foods left out overnight are considered tamasic and should be avoided this seems to be a long list of foods to avoid let's sum up with all things nutrition review the snapbit diet is a vegetarian diet that is based on ayurvedic principles and popular among yoga enthusiasts but should you eat like a yogi there are lots of reasons to enjoy more plant-based foods in your diet such as the health benefits its affordability and its potential environmental benefits stacked with diet includes many healthy foods and may offer some health benefits but it's highly restrictive and not based on science for these reasons it may be best to follow a less restrictive plant-based centric diet instead using meats to complement a meal almost like a garnish rather than making them the main event of every meal would possibly prevent the strict restriction mentality and risk of disordered eating a balanced vegetarian diet of nutritious foods like produce grains healthy fats and plant-based protein may offer several benefits but it may increase the risk of neutral deficiencies so it's important to plan well the bottom line is that it's important to listen to your body and do what feels right have you tried the static diet comment below if you enjoyed this video hit the button to watch more videos like this remember enjoy food and
