[Music] [Music] namaste everyone Lyndsey Nova here welcome to my youtube channel if you love all things yoga and meditation please make sure you have subscribed down below so today we are going to continue with our pranayama series so make sure that you have watched the deep yogic three-part breath video first and then you can continue on from there alright so we are going to practice some of Verdi today so some of Ritchie means the equalized breath and sama means equal or harmonious and Ritchie is often translated to meaning our thoughts or fluctuations and the mind so when we practice some of Ritchie we are seeking to harmonize our mind so that it becomes like a still lake without any ripples without any thoughts floating around and so this is the beauty and the power of pranayama is that it gives us the practice and the ability to control and expand our life force energy so that we can be peaceful prosperous and abundant humans on this planet so just remember change and peace begins with you and meme and the practices that we do to start our day every day okay so let's get started so find a comfortable position make sure your spine is long shoulders relaxed close your eyes and begin to take your deep three-part breath so as you inhale fill yourself fill up from the bottom to the top and does you exhale empty your lungs completely keep your breath in and out through the nose so your mouth is together jaw soft and easy so as you breathe deeply into your belly begin to imagine that you are pouring the breath into your body just as you would pour water into a glass it fills up from the bottom to the top as you inhale and then as you exhale you pour that water out of the glass you pour your breath out of the Bott for your breath out of the body just like you pour the water out of the glass on the exhalation from top to bottom now begin to count your breath how long are your inhalations and how long are your exhalations and just simply do this by counting inside of your mind try to keep your counts as even as possible if you need a way to measure how you're counting you can count 1 ohm 2 ohm 3 ohm and so forth that way you know that you're counting evenly and so you may begin to find that one part of your breath is longer or shorter than the other and that's totally normal so if we think of our breath as our intake and output of energy this is what your inhale and your exhale represent so are you taking in more energy are you like or are you letting go of more energy what is this saying about yourself right here in this moment and so now we can begin to harmonize our breath so the easiest way to do this is to practice a four count inhale and a four count exhale for many this is just a really great easy place to start you may be surprised at how easy it is or for some you may find it difficult to breathe in for four especially if you've never been aware or conscious of your breath before so make sure that you empty your lungs completely as you exhale and now we'll inhale four one two three four and exhale four three two one and inhale one two three four exhale four three two one again inhale one two three four and exhale four three two and so you can continue like this on your own I generally recommend at least three minutes I like to use an app called insight timer that helps me to just gauge how long I will practice forth it has some nice bells that will just chime to signal when you're done so it's nothing too alarming like maybe the alarm on your phone so that's our practice of some of Ritchie equalized breathing you can certainly expand this practice so once you get comfortable with a four count inhale and exhale you can move on to five count six counts and so forth but the four counts is a great place to start so I hope you enjoyed this video I hope that it helps you please make sure you for more and I will see you soon make sure that you like and comment give me a follow give me a shout out and you can join me on a teacher training for more information you can Lyndsey Nova comm the link is down below in the comments see you later
