Instructions

This video is a demonstration of a hatha yoga prana flow. Beginning in meditation, prana is cultivated in the body and then moves the practitioner into yoga postures.

While yoga today is often an exercise class with an external authority leading the flow, this is an example of yoga that is generated from the inside out. It may not look like your typical yoga class. The fluid and playful quality of this practice resembles modern dance, but has no accompanying external authority. It is meditation in motion.

While it is helpful to learn about yoga postures from experienced teachers, I find new joy in the practice of yoga when I allow myself to move from the energy that originates from within.

Steps

  • Pranayama (breathing techniques to cultivate prana)
  • Dynamic, fluid asana sequences (Prana Flow style)
