hey it's Monica Vee and today we are gonna talk about the qualities of our mind and we're gonna find out you're gonna find out like what quality of the mind is most dominant in you do you have a very pure mind do you have a goal setting mind or do you have maybe a little bit of a sad mind at the moment let's go through each one of these qualities of the mind so that you can see where you fit in the spectrum and then at the end of the video you can grab the cheat sheet below and you can learn tips so that you can ride to the higher level of the mind so let's talk about these try gunas of the mind in Ayurveda these qualities of the mind are known as the Tri gunas three qualities and so it is said that two of them can cause disease and one of them does not cause disease so let's start with the highest quality of the mind first which is known as saspa saspa does not cause disease it is purity it is harmony it is calm it is right choice followed through by right action and so it's all like it's kind of like our best self sort of place to be with pure joy love all the good feelings and all of the good intent around it then there's Rajas or rajasic mind which is the mid quality of the mind and it can cause disease so the mid level of the mind is usually where all of us are honestly it is the goal setting it is transformation it is motivation and it is a lot of those things that are driven by our own ego like I want to achieve this and so I'm gonna take all the actions to go get that thing or I want to achieve that thing and and goal set so I'm just gonna like bolsena right go get that thing and that's not bad as long as it has sattvic intent right so if we have all of these like really good pure intentions alongside our goal setting and as part of them that is awesome sattva and Rajas together well hell us sort of transformed our lives and transform the world around that right will be a contributor will be adding positive things to the world in a positive way with mindfulness and with really good positive intent those are all really good things where Raja turns not so great it's when we are so attached to achieving that thing that we actually don't do it by a peaceful means or with good with good intent to get there what do I mean by that well we can sometimes maybe treat people not quite so nicely when we're trying to achieve our own goals or maybe we work too much to try and achieve that goal and so then we've got the stress that sort of clouds us perhaps we ignore our best practices with our food choices or exercise or sleep habits or any of those things all of those because we're trying to chase that goal or because we've got the motivation to chase that thing can actually cause disease so we want to be mindful of that as we're achieving our goals and as we're wanting to transform and evolve and we're motivated all that keep the intention strong and keep it high to a high level if you find that you're compromising something in your own life because of that it may be time to reevaluate and bring in some more of those pure those pure intentions why am I doing this anyway would have an inward look instead of an outward reach the third quality of the mind is known as Thomas or Temasek so Temasek mind is a low quality of the mind it is it actually destroys our resistance to disease and so Temasek mind is darkness it is ignorance it can be anger it is depression it is sort of that level that we get to where we don't really want to act we don't want to think we're not open to reading some sort of spiritual books that might help us it's a level of the mind where we're like I don't want any help No thank you I'm bitter or I'm very sad or I'm very dark or very cloudy and unclear now I think we've all been through moments of Tomas or Temasek right but I will tell you this if you truly had a Temasek mind you would not be watching a video on Ayurveda so yay but we can get into different levels of these Minds at different times though it's important to be aware of where they are now if we're at the low quality of the mind in Thomas we need to climb the ladder back up to Rajas and climb the ladder back up to Safa because you can't just jump from a Temasek dark mind to it's that thick mind doesn't work that way so if you have a majestic mind you're feeling a little bit low in the pits at the moment the best thing to do is action remember because we're just ik is the level of the mind that is action motivation transformation and so from Temasek mind what do you need to do at do something volunteer clean your house start an exercise program serve something where there is action involved but saying quiet and staying dark is going to keep you there if you have a reject ik mind like most of us what we want to do then is bring more of that meditation into our life or that right choice with right action often times when we're Rogers were like I know the right thing to do but I just can't seem to do it yeah that's because all right we need a little bit of that uplift into a sattvic sattvic mind so any kind of journaling spiritual reading meditation really cleaning out any clutter that's around us and also make sure that we're answering our why why am i doing this thing why is it important and reaching for that higher level of why we're doing something instead of it just being self fulfilling so this video helped you today be sure to like it and if you
