The main sites of pitta are the sweat glands, rasa, lymph, rakta dhātu and the small intestine. Of all the sites, the small intestine is the most important site for pitta dosha.

Charaka mentions that even though the vitiation of pitta conditions are innumerable, the most common manifestation of pitta imbalances are listed as 40 conditions. These conditions range from excess heating and burning sensation within the body, inflammatory conditions and conditions having a predisposition to bleeding; if severe — such extreme conditions may cause one to hemorrhage!!

welcome to healthy ayurveda.com i'm dr mike taliwal vedic sage today we'll look at pitta conditions as mentioned in the 20th chapter of jericho sumita the main sites of pitta are the sweat glands and the small intestine and of all the sights the small intestine is the most important site for pitta dosha cherika mentions that even though the variation of pitted conditions are innumerable the most common manifestation of pitta imbalances are listed as 40 conditions these conditions range from excess heating and burning sensation within the body inflammatory conditions and conditions having a predisposition to bleeding and if severe such extreme conditions may cause one to hemorrhage as we know the predominant elements of pitta are of the fire and water elements pitta having the qualities of being hot sharp light with slight unctuousness and as this imbalance aggravated pitta moves from one part of the body to the other this causes a burning and heating sensation separation or that which discharges pus implying abscess formation which is associated with itching discharge redness and having an unpleasant fishy smell so understanding the underlining imbalance of pitta conditions being that of excess hot and sharp qualities many of these conditions listed makes logical sense such as the sense of excess heat scorching and burning sensation of the body for example burning sensation in the shoulders burning sensation of the skin being febrile or having a temperature with excess sweating urticaria may result from imbalanced pitadosha causing a rash redness or vesicles to the skin that itches intensely imbalanced pitta may manifest as inflammation such as pharyngitis conjunctivitis stomatitis and if inflammation is not properly managed this may lead to abscess formation which is a painful collection of pus which produces a distinct unpleasant odor and knowing that recta or hematocrit or blood has a special affinity for pitadosha imbalance pitta can create conditions of rectapitta which creates conditions of bleeding and finally knowing the relationship of the liver and spleen acting as a filtration system and allowing the ability to reclaim byproducts of destroyed red blood cells this explains how imbalanced pitadosha can create conditions of the liver such as jaundice and yellowing of the skin with regards to management jetica mentions that medicine having sweet bitter and astringent taste are indicated for the conditions oiliation purgation such as berechana and having a massage using properties which helps to pacify pitadosha are indicated to help manage bitter conditions however jetica states that of all the methods mentioned projection or veracina is the treatment of choice for managing pitted conditions and this is likened to the hot chamber being cooled by removing the fire from within okay guys this is just a brief video of the 40 pitta conditions mentioned by jericho samita hope you've enjoyed and until next time be well
