welcome to healthy ayurveda.com i'm dr mike dollywall vedic sage today we'll discuss the sixth successive datu to be formed which is majadatu majjadantu being that which most closely resembles the nervous system the function of majidantu is purana which means to fill space and if we interpret this as space within the foramina bone for example the space which fills the skull obviously is the brain and the space within the vertebral column is filled by the spinal cord with this interpretation we can think of majidatu as being that which most closely resembles the nervous system in the previous video we explained the special affinity of vatadosha and ashtiratu and it's the porous nature of bone which makes it a primary site of vatadosha cherika goes on to explain that mitadatu fills this porosity of bone with its unctuousness and it's from this unctuousness for which maja dhatu is formed the predominant element of majidatu is the water element and the water element or appa represents unctuousness which is characteristic of the high lipid concentration within the central nervous system so as majidatu traverses through bone tissue mudja ultimately travels throughout and innervates the entire body essentially the function of the nervous system allows for signal transmission allowing for sensation and perception and generating responses for example the motor response or movement in a way we can think of the nervous system as being the biological conduit of vatadosha and knowing that vatadosha allows for inspiration exploration movement and the proper elimination of excretia all of this occurs via the nervous system whether it be the central peripheral or the enteric nervous system the byproducts of majidatu are according to which states that the superior byproducts of majadatu as being the hair on the head although this seems to be more the byproduct of ashtidatu it's clearly stated that the inferior byproducts of machidattu or its malas are the unctuous excretion from the eyes and the oily part of feces as being the byproduct of machidattu those having excellence of majidatu are characterized by having strength having an unctuous or oily complexion and a melodious or deep voice these individuals are said to be endowed with longevity enhanced ability to learn and are knowledgeable wealthy and honorable people of course when majidattu is vitiated by dosha then majanatu can either increase or decrease for example kapha dosha being similar to majidantu with unctuousness will tend to increase majidatu which may cause generalized sense of heaviness in the body heaviness in the eyes and sluggishness and excessive sleepiness however if there is increased bhatta dosha this will tend to reduce majidattu creating a sense of emptiness insomnia fatigue this may cause dryness which is characteristic of vatadosha along with weak bones for example osteoporosis okay guys this is just a basic introduction into majadatu in the next videos we'll take a closer look at the basic management considerations for majesty conditions meanwhile hope you've enjoyed and until next time be well
