- [Nicole] People with mental illnesses don't need medications, they just need natural remedies and yoga. - Can the schizophrenic
start out this one? (everyone laughs) - You've got it. - So I get this daily
in my comment sections. Some of those things can
be beneficial in addition to medication and treatment. But to say that you could cure or fix a mental illness just by doing that is not only misinformation, but it's dangerous. There's already such a
stigma around mental illness. What we also have created
though is a stigma around medication and treatment. We've created this fear around medication that it's in some way bad. I would not be sitting here today if it wasn't for medication. And so I think promoting those things in addition is wonderful, but acting like it can solve the issue, in my opinion, is dangerous.
