Glossary: Vrischikasana
How to
- Begin in a forearm stand (Pincha Mayurasana) with your forearms parallel and shoulder-width apart, fingers spread wide.
- Engage your core by drawing your navel towards your spine and press firmly into your forearms to stabilize your shoulders.
- Slowly start to bend your knees, bringing your feet towards your head, keeping your core engaged to protect your lower back.
- Point your toes and extend your spine, allowing your head to lift slightly while keeping your neck relaxed.
- Hold the pose for a few breaths, maintaining steady, even breathing. Focus your gaze slightly forward and down, keeping a soft drishti.
- To release, gently straighten your legs back into a forearm stand, then lower one leg at a time back to the ground with control.
- Rest in Child's Pose for a few breaths to release any tension from your back and shoulders.
