  • Myofascial release for deeper tissue opening
  • Mindful engagement with sensation and breath (breathe through the intensity)

Ideal for

  • Athletes (runners, Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, bodybuilders)
  • Individuals with tight hips and quads
  • Anyone seeking myofascial release and deep tissue work
  • People looking to improve overall mobility and flexibility

Lesson

Instructions

Lay face down with yoga blocks under the front of your hips, using the edge to pin and stretch the tissue. This isn’t just a hip opener—it’s a full-body unlock. The body is one system, and releasing tension here can ripple through your entire structure. Take your time, breathe through the intensity, and let the fascia open. Do at your own risk, and take breaks.

Steps

  • Yoga block hip flexor and quad release (pin and stretch technique)
  • Sustained pressure into hip flexors/quads with blocks
  • Dynamic hip rotations (inward and outward) while on blocks

Benefits

  • Deep hip opening and increased mobility
  • Full-body tension release through fascial work
  • Improved posture and body alignment
  • Injury prevention and faster recovery
  • Relief from hip flexor and quad tightness

Transcript

has honestly become one of my most favorite exercises is put the blocks on the side, a little space so you don't smash your junk. And then basically you're putting the blocks Oh yeah. below the hipbone right on the hip flexors and the quads, the upper quads. There's just so much shortening right here. Put these down here and then just lay down. And then just getting the corners in the fronts of your quads and then just bending. This works super well. Turning the hips in. Turning the hips out.
