like to enjoy those books today I'm gonna talk to you about the pitta dosha Pitta TI TT a oftentimes when I am teaching Ayurveda a lot of my students will pronounce it PITA like pita bread it's not like pita bread it's Pitta p i t t a got it good so the pitta dosha is comprised of the elements of fire and water fire and water don't they seem like opposite elements it seems like okay fire can put out water so they don't seem like they would be working together in order to create this Ayurvedic mind body type however the power of the pitta dosha is all about transformation it's about transforming one thing into another thing the fire and water work together in synchronistic harmony to transform things so let me give you an example have you ever baked a batch of brownies I know I have if you bake a batch of brownies you have the wet ingredients and you have the dry ingredients so you might put together the chocolate powder the sugar the baking soda baking powder the salt and maybe chocolate chips I like to buy chocolate chips and my brownies and then you have the wet ingredients so you might have the water the oil the egg right you mix it all together so when you mix together the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients you have this big gloppy mess right so it's this wet thick mess and then you preheat an oven and you stick the wet gloppy mess which is the brownie mix into the oven for about 40 minutes to 45 minutes after that 40 to 45 minutes when you take out the pan that had the wet gloppy mess in it you have brownies and so if if I say to you hey try to find the egg in the brownies you could sift through that entire thing and you would not find the egg I will tell you that right now I promise you if I said go find the the flour and take it out you sift through you couldn't take the flour out of the brownies it's because the wet gloppy mixture with the fire the heat of the oven has come lately transformed that brownie mixture into actual brownies that you can eat and that is the transformative power of the pitta dosha in other videos I've talked about in Ayurveda we have three doshas Vata Pitta and kapha there are five elements which make up the three doshas the five elements are space air Fire Water and Earth Akasha value teja Jala pretty be Pitta is comprised of Jala and T Joss water fire so a person who embodies the pitta dosha has more of the fire and water elements within their mind body type than the other three elements now remember we have all five of the elements in our mind body type there's no way we couldn't we live on this earth man just food me in just air we ingest sunlight every day so we have all of these elements within us however our prakruti our true nature the I'd like to call the genetic deck of cards we were dealt at the time of our conception our purity made up of these elements in different proportions so someone who we might say is a Pitta type has a greater proportion of the elements of fire tej us and water Jala then let's say a Vata type who has a higher percentage of space and air so do you get it it's all about these varying proportions of the different five elements the two piga types might not look alike either because a one katha might have a higher fire element than the water element and another Pitta may have a higher water Melamed than the fire element so there's always slight variations in slight differences that being said each Pitta type is going to portray certain characteristics personality traits and physical traits than someone who is not a Pitta type okay as I go through the description of the Pitta I'm going to give a very stereotypical description of appetite it's going to look like somebody who really embodies Pitta at every level there are very few people in the world that are single dosha types meaning that they're single dosha type is so high that the other two are just very low and they don't portray themselves or manifest themselves outwardly as much as the main dosha so you might hear if you're if you have Pitta is one of your main mind body types you might hear certain traits that sound like you and then other traits that don't sound like you okay so pizza types are mesomorphic they're right in the middle they're not fat they're not skinny they're just medium they're right in the middle they have a medium build medium bone structure they have a tendency to be on the weight scale they're pretty much right in the middle there they're not overweight they're not underweight they're just right in the middle now of course when we talk about a stereotypical Pitta type we're talking about a Pitta types that that is relatively balanced okay you can be a Pitta type and be overweight you can be a Pitta type and be underweight but those would be deviations or variations of what you truly should be when you are in balance Pitta types are mesomorphic they're not fat they're not skinny they're right in between they usually have nice penetrating eyes that look warm they have Pitta types have a very warm glowing gaze and that comes from the fire element these sense of for pizza the main sense is this sense of sight pitches perceive things through the eyes they really like beauty they like seeing things they learn by seeing things the sense organ is the eyes for Pitta types Pitta types they're going to portray the same types of traits as the elements that represent pizza so for example fire we think of fire we think hot penetrating bright it can be hot to the touch right and you think of water wet flowing may be heavier okay so all of these traits mixed together are going to create a pizza type so a pit a person physically they tend to have redder skin they tend to have less I said bright eyes their body temperature tends to run a little bit warmer a Pitta type will walk into a room and say that he or she is hot or warm or overheated or that the room is too hot they they have a tendency to be very like fire a very passionate driven goal-oriented they have a lot of sweat glands so because of that watery element they tend to sweat more they tend to be more moist meaning like they're going to perspire they're gonna have more saliva on their mouths they they have oily skin so again that heat with the water combines and you get this heat oily skin they're prone to eruptions of redness in the skin rashes allergy allergic reactions in the skin acne things like that they also tend to from a psychological standpoint they tend to be a little bit more judgmental critical not only of other people but also of themselves since they're so driven and passionate goal-oriented they go for the gold they're very competitive in nature they tend to be leaders intellectuals they like school they like facts they like learning they they like public speaking you see them as CEOs as judges as doctors you see Pitta types is again being someone who's gonna accumulate like 50 degrees because they like learning and they like imparting that learning to others they like telling others what to do they have a tendency they can be a little bit controlling they can be a little bit as I mentioned over-critical but they're also very attractive very warm people are drawn to Pitta types because of their warm nature that fire within them they're very passionate and attractive so when they speak they're eloquent speakers and so again people are like drawn to them they're drawn to them for their their their words and their knowledge and their beauty each dosha can work in the positive and the negative and when you're balanced you have all the beautiful traits of your dosha plus the other doses and when you're out of balance generally speaking your dosha is the one that gets out of balance first and so when Pitta types are out of balance they tend toward anger they're impatient they don't like to have their time wasted they get critical they try to tell everybody else what to do they want things their way or the highway their mantra is what did you do wrong they they can't see things from another person's perspective because they think they've got it all figured out and usually they do because they're pretty smart people and they're very committed to their outcome they're very committed to their goals and with this commitment comes knowledge and with this commitment comes I know how to get to the end result and so often they are right however they don't have always a very tactful way of going about it or portraying this to others they do have a tendency to succumb to addictions to be workaholics to not work well with other people and that's only when they're working out of balance so you have to think there are always two sides to the coin a lot of times when I'm teaching my Ayurvedic course and I read the description of pit hour I'm talking about the description of Pitta which you know there are three doshas a chances are one third of the population is pit up at least so when this happens what ends up happening is that the pit is in the room are usually saying that's not me I'm not a pit of because PETA has a tendency to have a negative spin on it even though there are positives and negatives of both doshas Pitta types do have that little bit of edge of the negative spin and the only reason is because of that fire element because if you think about it fire it can be warm right we want fire when we're cold when it's winter outside and we build a little fire in the fireplace and you know we roast some marshmallows warmer hands on the fire it warms up the room it's very warm cozy it's comfortable comforting but fire can also burn so you have to keep a safe distance from fire otherwise it's going to burn you same thing with the Sun we have this big bright beautiful Sun which is it's the it's it brings us light it brings us life but you stay out in the Sun too long you'll get a sunburn so there are always two sides and so when we look at the positive we're looking at the the positive traits of who you are recognition of your dosha is all about recognizing who you are what your propensity ZAR what your tendencies are and knowing yourself in the power in knowing yourself is the power to be able to heal yourself wishing you a beautiful day my commitment to you is to produce many videos on Ayurveda answers in order to answer your
