[Music] hi friends and welcome back to my channel my name is ariana elizabeth and today i'm going to talk about all of my yoga mats i have gotten so many requests and questions on them their size the material which ones i like the most which ones i may not use as often so today i am going to go all over and through that and let's just go ahead and jump right in okay so first to start out as you can see i have 12 yoga mats behind me these are the mats that i own they range from cork to pu which is polyurethane to natural rubber and suede mat so i have a couple different types of mats for sure first i'll start out with my cork mats i'm not going to go in any particular order because i do really actually like all of these masks for different reasons but of course you guys have seen me on the cork mats the most so i'll go ahead and start out with that one so these are my two cork yoga mats they are both by scoria world i actually have had this one a little bit longer so it's a little bit more worn and this is my newer one i will be leaving all dimensions of the mats in the video as well as down below in the description just because i definitely can't remember the diameter of everything and how thick everything is how tall everything is but hopefully with these being behind me you can get somewhat of a visual idea and then i'll leave the exact dimensions below this mat is by scoria world and i really really do love using a cork mat simply because they really seem to not hold odor that much as compared to some of my other like rubber mats they also are very grippy once they are wet not as grippy as some of the other mats that i'll talk about but they are very grippy just in general i love that they're also antimicrobial so they don't hold bacteria as much even though i do definitely wash all of my mats still but these are supposed to not hold as much bacteria so that i guess just is a mental thing for me and since i can't wash my mats every single day i definitely do prefer to use something that at least is antimicrobial to some degree there's also rubber on the other side of the mat and i appreciate that as well because i can actually flip it over and use the rubber side if i want to [Music] all right next i will talk about my travel yoga mat this is my travel yoga mat it is by lululemon it's very very thin and what i like most about this mat is that for a travel yoga mat it's very thin it's very grippy especially on this side but you can use either side the material is the same as their larger yoga mats the only difference really is just the thinness and the portability you can roll it up like i have it here or you can fold it i've definitely folded it multiple times it does not take up a ton of space and it's super super super light like extremely light so i really like this i have used this especially when i had to go teach in different locations and i did not feel like like hauling around a heavier yoga mat or a more substantial yoga mat one thing i also do really love about this mat is that it's so easy to wash i do pop all of my yoga mats in a bathtub to wash them but this one is by far the easiest the fastest and it dries extremely quickly so very very good travel yoga mat highly recommend and yeah [Music] alrighty next i'm going to go into my suede yoga mats by my sugar matte and that is these two mattes right here so these are my mattes by sugar matte i really really love sugar matte simply because they make very pretty yoga mats um they also have a unique texture which is suede i was not a believer of suede at first i thought this is just going to be a slippery towel that isn't as practical as one may think but once you really start sweating on this mat oh my goodness makes a world of difference it actually gets extremely grippy now of course the texture is still this is more of a towel like texture as opposed to a pu mat however the grippiness is here nonetheless so like i said when it comes to my sugar mat they have a lot of pretty yoga mats as you see this is the case that it comes in and it even says designer yoga mat on the end when you open it up your mat is inside the two mats that i have is the palm leaf mat and the sassy mat i really really love both of these just equally with my sugar mat you can get any matte monogrammed with your name on it which is pretty cool to me i also i love the personal touch that is a huge thing for me honestly it does make me feel special what i actually love about the sassy mat is that they collaborated with a black artist whose name i will list here and they worked with her for this design they have so many different designs on their mats and i still want to get so many more of them they are not super heavy definitely not light but not super super heavy um i do love that you can fold them up if you really needed to you actually could fold these mats up as you see they're a lot more pliable or a lot softer than like a more structured pu mat the colors are still very vibrant and when it comes to washing them you actually can wash them in the bathtub i know that they say they don't recommend it however i've done it and it worked out just fine for me i will say however that i did take it one step further just to test it out with my older mat and i put this one in the washer and i don't recommend putting it in the washer simply because it begins to kind of like curl up the sides of the mat of the towel part of the mat so i wouldn't recommend putting the mat in the actual washer however when i put it in the tub and i let it air dry on a hot day it looked beautiful it turned out just fine so that is one of my favorite things about my sugar matt [Music] alrighty let's move on to my aloe mat so this is my aloe yoga mat it is very heavy very durable very pretty and very expensive of course like i said i'll have the pricing and everything listed here this is aloe yoga you already know that aloe yoga is a very well-known brand i really do like allah yoga i won't say that this mat is ridiculously expensive because it's not that much more expensive than any other typical yoga mat however if the quality does speak for itself it is much thicker than most of my other mats which does make it heavier so this is not a travel mat at all like definitely not a travel mat both sides are extremely grippy so i do appreciate that and i just got the basic white matte because i don't have any white yoga mats and to be honest i searched for a yoga mat all over the internet and i could not find a quality white yoga mat anywhere so this is definitely my go-to yoga mat when i really just want something substantial i know that i'm about to have a really hot and sweaty practice and i need something that's going to seriously support me also i mean it is an aloe yoga mat so of course it's it's kind of nice that it has the little aloe yoga symbol which i'll show you in a second but yeah i do really enjoy this matte um part of it is because of the name yes i'll be honest but most of it most of it really is just the substantial quality that aloe yoga is expected to deliver in all honesty so and they did deliver oh and last thing this mat came so fast to my doorstep i ordered it and it literally arrived on my doorstep in about i think like two and a half days so they were really really on it you sometimes i want to say you get what you pay for um not every single time but in this instance yes like you order it it arrives it's packaged beautifully and it's ready to go the only small negative i will say for this mat in particular mainly just because of the color is obviously because it's white it's going to get dirtier faster and that wouldn't be as much of an issue if it wasn't like such good quality to where it really absorbs and it's a little bit difficult to clean i haven't thoroughly scrubbed it yet but even just wiping it off like for example my dog walked on it or my fiance stepped on it with his shoes and whereas other mats i feel like i could kind of just like wipe it away with a wipe this not so much it feels like it's been like absorbed into the mat so now i really actually only pull it out when it's just me and i am um not near like any dirt this is definitely not a mat that i take outside or to any other locations where i will really be outdoors definitely not because it will get filthy in like two seconds [Music] all right now i will move on to my manduka mat this mat i have had for many many years i've actually had this mat this was my first official like matte purchase when i started yoga so i've had this probably for about five years it's definitely been through many things so it's going to be i mean even after washing it and everything is just going to be one of my most loved mats as you can see there's certain stains that just aren't going to come out of it it is a rubber mat i got it during valentine's day when i was quite single and i wanted to love on myself and so i got it in pink and i really really loved this vibrant pink it was it's still pretty bright but it was even brighter when i got it so i really love this mat it's extremely grippy this is definitely a rubber a rubber mat manduka makes very very high quality mats so like i said this has lasted me a really good while i've used this outdoors i've used this all over the place and it's just well structured and fairly easy to clean in general also i love that it's made out of natural materials this is my manduka mat [Music] all right we'll move on to this mat which is actually one of my newer mats this is by yoga pieces i actually have not heard of this brand before i had not heard of this brand until maybe about a month ago or so and so they reached out to me and asked if i wanted to try out one of their mats and i said gladly i love this color i believe this is like coco the color cocoa or something like that and they just have like a minimal design on it this is a polyurethane knot it's not crazy heavy not as heavy as the aloe yoga mat but definitely still fairly thick um really really good quality this is definitely a solid quality mat just because i haven't heard of the name before does not take away from the quality at all both sides are very grippy it's actually dare i say very similar to the aloe yoga mat just aloe yoga mat is thicker and this one is thinner but really it feels just the same in all honesty i haven't gotten to truly truly practice on it yet so i can't say what it actually feels like when you practice on it however i can only assume i mean based off of what i have done on it it's it's pretty grippy it is pretty grippy so we'll see once i sweat on it all right now we're going to move on to my meta matte okay so this is my meta matte i had never ever ever ever heard of meta matte before definitely a smaller brand this is what their logo looks like i have not practiced that much on this mat i did do a very very small little practice i don't know if you saw it on my instagram if you're following my instagram this is definitely a unique mat it's a beautiful mat it's super quality and it is very thick there's rubber on one side the only thing that kind of throws me off with this mat is the texture of it so i'm not really sure what material they use for this mat and when i go on their website it kind of just lists that the inside of course like the inner part of this mat is rubber which is like obvious to see but the outer part they say is like kind of like a special material or a unique material but they of course never really actually reveal what it is i don't think whatever it is i'll just list it here so that you can see what they wrote it is a very grippy material but it's grippy more in the sense that it actually feels sticky like it feels like there's like a little bit of like residue left on the mat however there's not so it's like my hands don't feel sticky after touching it but when they're on it it feels almost like when you touch honey and then try and wipe honey off with a dry towel and you still have that little bit of stickiness left over some people might enjoy that i am indifferent but it is grippy nonetheless i can't say that you know it doesn't hold me in a forearm stand i will say like when i flow on it it kind of feels like i keep feeling like i'm when i lift up especially when i start sweating i feel like when i lift up i get that little bit of like residue so it it's i'm indifferent about it however it is really beautiful i'm happy to take photos on it for sure but as far as like a normal like regular practice probably wouldn't really practice on this one that much but i am very grateful that metamax did gift it to me and like i said the design is super unique and you're definitely not going to find their designs anywhere else because they are very [Music] unique okay now we'll move on to my yoga line mat this is the company yoga line and they actually engrave your name on their mats as well what i really really really love about yoga lines so far i have not practiced on this mat yet but what i really love about it so far is that they actually get your exact dimensions so i'll open this up towards the end or i'll show you what the lines look like on this mat but what they do is it's very similar to a life forming mat if you've heard of a light for me mat it kind of guides you as to where to put your hands and your feet but what i really like about them is that it's very specific to your body so literally they ask you for i think it's from like shoulder to um wrist and um i can't remember i think like your overall height and then like from your hip to your ankle or your foot or something like that so they ask you specific questions and if you don't answer them correctly they will ask you again to make sure that it does like cater specifically to you and then on top of that they put your name on it which makes it feel even more personal so i really really really like that about this mat it is definitely a heavier matte not a travel mount at all but very beautiful very similar to um or it's a pu mat so it's very similar to the other pu mats that i showed you um i like i said since i haven't practiced on it i can't say how grippy it is but based off of this material that i i felt many times before i can definitely say it's really really grippy just by holding it and i will also be doing a video a full flow on this mat so that you can really see how i practice on it and yeah i think overall it's just aesthetically pleasing i can't remember the exact color that this is but it's a lavender oh i believe it's lilac lilac is the color that i got for this matte so yes this is my yoga line matt [Music] all right second to last this is my life for me mat and i have practice on this mat multiple times outdoors indoors and i really really do like the quality of this mat similar to the yoga line mat it does have the lines on it that kind of show where to place your hands and your feet however of course they're not specifically made for your body so they're kind of just like i use it more as of like a general placement rather than more exact however it is still fairly accurate and i i never have found any problems with it if i happen to use the line sometimes i don't even use the lines i just use them as an aesthetically pleasing aspect of the mat i got it in black but they do have many other colors and i actually think that they came out with a new a new matte i don't know if it's like a rainbow mat or something like that this is a pu mat and it is fairly heavy very similar to the other pu mats like i said nothing super different i actually like that in a weird way this mat seems to be softer than my other pu mats for some reason i don't know why that may be because it doesn't it's not brand new and it doesn't have a ton of wear and tear on it so for some reason it's just like very soft and i really enjoy it but yeah so this is my life for me matt and yeah all right and last but certainly not least we have my lululemon mat all right this is my lululemon mat it is definitely one of my heaviest mattes between this matte and the aloe yoga mat i don't know which one is heavier i think this one actually would be this was my second major matte purchase i'll say i of course obviously got it in black it's a pu mat it is one of their thicker mattes i intentionally got it thicker and i intentionally got it longer i believe actually as well so this mat is my longest mat i got it in their taller size like it for taller people not because i'm tall because i'm just 5'4 but because i really enjoy having a little extra space in yoga classes sometimes the classes that i would go into when i was in atlanta they would get pretty packed and so we would actually be like matt to matt in some of these classes so that was the time that i really wanted to invest in a map that gave me more space so that i didn't you know feel stingy about kind of wanting to have more of my own space i just laid out my mat and if we were matte to mat i still had enough space so that was definitely what i enjoyed most about this mat um it is well loved i've had this mat for almost as many years as i've had my manduka mat this one i probably had for about maybe four years as you can see it's even it's just even taller than the other mats behind me and yeah it's an excellent quality mat i wash it in the tub just like my other mats i will say this mat gets very dirty maybe it's because i used it more than the others maybe it's because i used it in more public spaces as well i don't know but this mat for some reason can get really dirty if you don't stay on top of it i actually really really really love this mat and it's probably going to be about time for me to get a new one of these simply because this one has had a lot of use but i highly would recommend a lululemon mat yes lululemon is a little on the pricier side but it is worth it so also with this mat i do want to say that you can equally use both sides i have used both sides like completely equally and they're super grippy on both sides so i i really do love this mat for that if one side's like a little bit dirtier and i don't have time to wipe it off before class or whatever the case may be i can literally flip it over and get the same exact practice on the other side yes there are two different sides and they say that one is um for like the smoother side is for a hot a sweatier practice and then the other side is for a not a sweaty practice but i've done an equally sweaty practice on both sides and it was amazing so yes my lululemon [Music] alrighty so those are all of my mats i hope that this has been a really informative video i hope it was helpful one thing i did want to address that a lot of people have been asking me is where do i get like a wider mat none of these mats are actually wide so i use a wide angle lens and it just appears in my like video that the mattes are wider than they really are but they are not they're all just normal widths if you notice in the dimensions that i provided for you so the only mat that i would say i've seen before that is like wider which i'm not sure if wide would really be the word for it are some mats that i've seen online i think by manduka and they have circle mats so i'm not sure if you've seen the circle mats yet the circle yoga mats but if you look up circle yoga mat on google you'll probably see it i will hopefully be getting one of those soon i'm not sure how that feels practicing on it i'm not sure of the material or anything like that but it is pretty cool looking so i feel like why not thank you so much for
