How to
- Start in Tadasana (Mountain Pose), standing with feet hip-width apart.
- Step your right foot back about three to four feet, keeping both legs straight and your heels aligned.
- Turn your right foot out slightly and square your hips forward.
- Inhale to lengthen the spine, and as you exhale, hinge at the hips to fold forward over your left leg.
- Place your right hand either on the floor, a block, or your shin, directly under your shoulder.
- Rotate your torso to the left, extending your left arm up towards the ceiling, aligning your shoulders vertically.
- Engage your core and lengthen through the spine, keeping your gaze on your left thumb or straight ahead if neck is sensitive.
- Hold the pose for 5-7 breaths, maintaining steady inhalations and exhalations.
- To exit, inhale to lift your torso back to standing, and step your feet together, returning to Tadasana.
