Transcript

good thing adam guys welcome back to the kundalini yogini this is prasidda thank you for joining me today i have not done an herb video in a very long time and i decided i would start with triphala triphala is one of my all-time favorite herbs but more importantly the herb which is arguably most known most well-used most popular formulation of all ayurvedic medicines it is extremely diverse and extremely potent in balancing all three doshas vata pitta and kapha which makes it so versatile and makes it be able to be used in so many different body types and mind types not only that triphala is not just a medicine to aid with certain imbalances or disorders it is actually a rejuvenatory tonic or preventative medicine that can be taken daily to prevent aging allowing graceful aging rejuvenation of the body tissues and opening up of all the channels of the body to which specifically helps in aiding eliminate elimination and detox it's also from a western medical perspective extremely high in antioxidants fiber and can help to be anti-inflammatory to the body as well and if you haven't yet heard you can buy triplet from my own herbal company ananda ayurveda i would love for you guys to try it out we've got some amazing testimonials already about the quality and effects positive effects of taking triphala and i'm very excited to share with you more about that in this video when it comes to digestion triphala is truly your best friend it is considered a mild laxative very mild by the way very gentle but really helps in regulating daily bowel movements and aiding in the process of assimilation of nutrients and elimination of waste in the body and from an ayurvedic lens we consider it to be a remover of alma or toxins undigested food material in the body so taking triphala really cleanses you from the inside out and it's considered to tone and cleanse the liver and colon especially triple is also considered extremely nourishing for the body for one primary reason in that it contains five tastes five of the six rossas or tastes in ayurveda and based on the taste we can actually use substances as medicine so the more diversity that a substance has the wider range of healing benefits it has and it can work on more tissues more dimensions of the body and mind healing so because triphala has so many of the tastes in it it can target all these different parts of the body different doshas and different elements in the body which is what makes it so powerful at balancing vata pitta and kapha doshas there are also too many other benefits to list with triphala but a few of the most well-known are as an eye tonic so it's amazing for toning the eyes prolonging better vision and also it can be made into a diluted concoction to actually cleanse them and wash the eyes with it it's also amazing for immunity because it's extremely high in vitamin c and antioxidants so it helps to build a stronger immune system last but not least triple also aids in wound healing because of these properties and can be used as a mouthwash or toothpaste natural tooth powder because of its taste and bitter astringent qualities triphala is actually three medicines in one three plants in one the three fruits are haritaki bibitaki and amalaki haritaki focuses in balancing vata dosha vata energy the wind and space energy amalaki targets the pitadosha or predominantly fire energy and bibitaki focuses in the kapha dosha or the earth energy together these make an extremely powerful triad medicine let's look a little bit more at each herb so haritaki is the vata balancing component of this formula and haritaki is known as terminalia chabula as a scientific name and its major use in this formula is the laxative component and the detoxing effect of moving the prana and the vata downwards to allow elimination to happen amalaki or emblica aficionalis it's also known as indian gooseberry and is one of the most beloved herbs in ayurveda as well because it's considered the mother herb the loving mother and the tree of shiva also amalaki fruit is the highest substance vitamin c food in the world and because of its cooling nature is extremely powerful at balancing pitadosha bibitaki or terminalia balerica is very potent at scraping fat or mucus from the body because of this quality it is amazing at balancing coffee dosia helping to tone muscle remove excess fat and again get rid of extra mucus i hope this video is really helpful and informative for you on the benefits of triphala and how you can use it and why you should be aiming to
