Located at the base of your spine, mulara literally means root support. It governs your survival instincts, stability, grounding, and your connection to the physical world. Think of a building. No matter how beautiful the structure, without a strong foundation, it collapses. The same is true for human life. If muladhara is imbalanced, you may feel anxiety, fear about the future, financial insecurity, lack of discipline, feeling disconnected from the body, getting easily overwhelmed. But when muladhara is balanced, you feel stable and grounded. You trust life. You handle challenges calmly. You have clarity and discipline. You feel safe within your body. Muladhara is not just a chakra. It is your root identity. The mooladhara chakra is represented by a four petal red lotus. Each petal symbolizes dharma purpose earth prosperity karma, desire, moka, liberation. These are the four aims of human life. It means your entire life journey begins at the root. The element of muladhara is earth representing grounding and stability. It seed sometime is called lum, a vibration that anchors your scattered energy and pulls it back into your body. Imagine a giant banyan tree for hundreds of years. It stands firm surviving a storms, droughts and cyclones. Why? Not because of its branches but because of its roots. Your mind is like the branches always moving. Your emotions are like leaves always changing. But your muladhara is the root unshakable. If you heal your root, your entire life becomes stable. If your root is weak, even a small challenges feel unbearable. In modern psychology, mooladhara connects closely with the fight or flight response, childhood stability, sense of belonging, relationship with money and security, feeling safe in the world.
