[Music] and now we're going to be delving into some more advanced breathing techniques in this video we're going to be using more breath holds of up to 20 seconds so if you're not yet comfortable or want some more practice with breath holds then go back to the box breathing technique and when you're ready you can come back this technique is called the vishami urity also known as the uneven breath the benefits of using this technique is improved concentration increased mindfulness and an energized body so let's take a minute to breathe in and breathe out slowly breathing in breathing out breathing in breathing out breathing in and out in and out in and out and in and out so now we're feeling relaxed we are now ready to begin the technique this technique is very similar to box breathing as it has four sides but as this is the uneven breath we have different breathing times and counts for each side of that box the first side will be in for five seconds and then we will hold for 20 exhale for 10 hold for five to complete the breath and i'll count with you so you get used to the breathing and the rhythm let's begin in two three four five hold two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 out 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 hold two three four five in two three four five hold two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 out 2 3 4 5 six seven eight nine ten hold two three four five in and continue on your own and hold for 20. out for ten hold for five [Music] keep breathing in the pattern of 5 20 10 and 5. [Music] maintaining the rhythm in for five hold for 20 exhale for 10 hold for 5. and when you get to the end start again in four five hold for 20. out for 10 and hold for five [Music] you [Music] when you reach the end of the cycle the end of the box just let your breathing go back to its natural flow its natural rhythm and see how you feel observe how you feel do you feel that increased concentration improved mindfulness energized body use this technique to carry yourself through your day namaste you
