This is the first lecture of 5 sessions welcoming you into the journey of The Embodied Life. I bring you into small introduction into ...
so the four pillars within flow within the embodied life or primal movement is awareness breath sound which one did I not say movement yeah so like yesterday I was feeling anger and I have it's so wild a lot of energy this week by the way I don't know if anybody else's I mean there's always energy but a lot of breakdowns this week by the way I comforted to people just like spilling their guts to me crying and sobbing and I'm like of course because tonight I'm teaching the embodied series so yesterday I was feeling a lot of fire and frustration and anger and sometimes we can even feel guilty feeling that oh I should be mad I'm a gentle soul I'm a yoga teacher I have a space called Jala blue I shouldn't show that side of myself I'm so tired of that so it's like the invitation to really feel what you're feeling but within healthy boundaries it's not like I'm gonna go out and rage in a negative way right but I'm gonna give myself permission to feel that anger I'm gonna give myself permission to move the way I want to move I'm gonna give myself permission to scream if I want to scream does that make sense to you guys I know you guys know all this but this is just non-stop reminders for us because a lot of us are still moving through our mundane life's checking off the list doing what we do in a very robotic way not saying all of you do this but we're all human and we do it so how do we start to drop in even in our mundane aspects of life we can even get caught up in okay I'm kind of tired of BV I need to get out of BV right I need to get out of Salida I need to get out of this small town I'm gonna move yeah but then really the input the invitation is to drop inside and really feel this because if you're bored or you feel stagnant nobody else is making you feel this way B B's not making you feel this way perhaps you're just doing the same thing day after day you know so it's an opportunity to drop in and just feel so then most of you have heard of the five bodies we have the physical body which obviously is the bones the muscles the skin the blood and the physical body is the portal to feel the mental body and the mental of the thoughts the ideas and the concepts and I keep saying this to you guys because I think it's really profound it's not like you haven't thought about it before but every thought you have has an emotion a feeling every thought give that a go one day then your minds really gonna be like all over it's like it's like a game yeah and then emotions are just a label so like I was frustrated yesterday maybe I was a little angry more frustration and then today I just felt really tired but in a calm kind of way tomorrow maybe I'll be blissful and happy but those are just labels so then what's beyond the label like when I feel frustrated and angry my neck gets so red and my face gets really flushed and my whole body feels contracted for some of you it may look totally different like somebody say something when you feel angry like something different than I what I said anybody has any other thing different things like eyes rolled up into their head or something like The Exorcist eyestrain yeah yeah you're angry line face reader I'm a face reader down yeah so different different and then your energetic body some of you have heard of the chakras the portals in your body meridians mmm could go on and on but it's that the energy moving that you can't always see some of you came to my sweet surrender last class and I talked about Akasha and the kasha is energy that you can't always see but it's there without it we would die really love it's like we can't always we can see love to a certain extent but when we're really feeling it inside that deep-rooted emotion I mean even just talking about it I get this feeling right here and it goes straight to my belly for some of you it may be you know somewhere different when you really love somebody so deeply so deeply and you've seen them and they're all and they see you so that's that that energetic and then we have the divine body and that's a higher consciousness so the divine body is when I always imagine this like you're this hawk or maybe you're an eagle or any other kind of bird and you're kind of just flying above your life and you're witnessing it you're observing it but you're not grabbing on to it it's like the wave of grace the higher consciousness a divine body when source is moving through you whatever source is for you whatever language feels comfortable spirit moving through you when intuition rises up so one and we'll go over this and over this and over this in different ways and different practices but even dropping in every day is so huge and I'll be sending you guys something in the email between the session and next session but I call it the drop in practice and it's an invitation just to check on yourself and I would I would highly suggest in the morning but it doesn't really matter you can check in on yourself middle of the day and of night but if you're gonna do it once just maybe pick a time that you can kind of just keep it going you know and just kind of feel where you're at energetically emotionally physically you know it could be as simple as you know what my back really hurts today and so my emotion is this or maybe it's a thought I can't stop thinking about this and then we go beyond the thought it's not easy it's actually you know it's a it's a practice you have to keep practicing it's a skill and I already told you the four pillars of embodiment and the invitation of this practice to is to let your body lead so we live in our head a lot the invitation of an embodied life is not to live so much in our head but to have communion with our heart I love that to have communion with your heart so there's some positive aspects of bringing this into your life connection with the flow of who you are ability to access trust safety love and your divine gifts ability to navigate life and making decisions with ease an expanded capacity to feel and prioritize pleasure so even in your to-do list you can bring in pleasure to line with your truth magnetize what you desire moving the frozen into the flow so when I talk about moving the frozen into the flow what happens many times is that if we have trauma in our lives whether it's trauma from the past or recent trauma all of us have past trauma and all of us have recent trauma by the way and if we don't welcome it in then it becomes frozen tension which is fine to a certain extent but it always comes around full circle I think most of you know this at some point especially if it's a big one at some point you're gonna have to welcome it in and once we welcome it in with a little bit of fire when we're ready to go there that means we we trust the fire we also welcome in the tenderness the air and again that's the catalyst of change the catalysts of transformation many times we don't speak our truth and this is part of the frozen tension because we're scared we're gonna hurt our friend or family or Society has told us to be one way or another or think about all the people in the world that are in careers that are absolute miserable because this is what society said they should do as a man or a woman and so they just stay with it so all this frozen tension becomes built up or stress and then it just freezes in the body so how do we move that back into the flow well we have to welcome it in and this is part of the embodied life so we move like it we breathe like it we make sounds we have we exhale deeply we're in a relationship that perhaps is not for our highest but we stay in it so devotion and discipline this is just an invitation that practice devotion to the self devotion to sensation and devotion to essence devotion to life devotion to others devotion to pleasure devotion to pain devotion to that you have to be great up to everything you're grateful for so it's starting just to tap into all these different layers of your life and then I already went over pretty much the armor the numbness the fire the tender and the truth we'll get more into this as we move into practices and then the invitation is that feminine energy and masculine energies that dynamic and finding that balance between feminine and masculine energy does that make sense to you guys yeah so um any questions so far are you guys awake I'm just looking at my notes there's so much I could go on and on and on so I mean in my opinion to is and this is this is just common sense the more we store stuff in our body more of like the trauma or the stress or the tension or not speaking our truth which is a big one for me I mean I speak my truth a lot but I mean I'm just saying a big one in my opinion there's so many people scared to speak their truth the this is also what creates you know illness and disease and if we're just walking around not being who we are expressing who we are then we're frozen completely really we're not in the flow it's not moving it's not moving for us and yet when we decide to speak our truth I don't know about you guys but I feel this liberation within my body this the sweetness this grace moved through me the more I do it the better I feel the more I live for my absolute truth cheveux hum oh god the camera still on I don't think I'm smiling I'm being so serious yes speaking the truth yeah so um what we're going to do next
