Transcript

this practice is about developing a yoga to help your life rather than just to become more flexible or stronger or something like that the key emphasis in this way of doing things is am i as a person so raising self awareness of our patterns and working on some different patterns so we can improve your things we care about our relationships are work or love life whatever it is so the main method we're using is we're using postures some of which you're familiar from regular modern post Ryoga some of which we've taken from dance or martial arts or body therapy different places and we're using those postures and we're saying okay how do they reveal our patterns there's other videos you can see on this and then what I want to develop through either changing my postures changing my practice emphasis in my practice how do we transfer that into life so how do i transfer relaxing my face when I'm really difficult posture to relaxing when my kids are screaming or when my boss is having a go at me or whatever it is so that they're the key methods we use a lot of partner practices we do some things that are pretty different some things that you just won't see elsewhere we do yoga competitions not for kind of glory or a trophy but to look at how we are in competition yeah we do need a follower exercises to look at our leadership is and how we are in service all kinds of you doing exercise around criticism and how we are we're judged and how we are when someone gives us positive feedback word so I give this appreciation and the other thing is because we do some debriefs for partners some conversation it's a bit like cam coaching through your life coaching through yoga because we do that and have partner practice tends to be quite social quite fun we tend to attract students with good sense of humor yeah and not take ourselves too seriously doing and also with a sense of why the implications of what we're doing in yoga the politics or the environmental impacts so it's taking the focus away just from saying my hamstrings or getting a tight abs or whatever to yes the health benefits great but more than that also about myself in the world the things that I care about the wider world out there so that's really the heart of what we're doing yeah in this practice and it's good fun it's deep is very practical so if you like that come and give it a go
