Who we are, and why yoga.org is open to all

yoga.org is run by Yoga Org Foundation Inc., a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity based in Denver, Colorado. Core learning here costs nothing and never depends on giving.

Our mission

Spreading the benefits of yoga and making it more accessible to all by empowering the global yoga ecosystem: educating, honoring yoga's roots in Indian tradition, meeting people where they are, and giving those who serve yoga (teachers, studios, schools) the tools and support to thrive.

Educate

We publish teaching on practice, philosophy, anatomy and Āyurveda, and say where it comes from.

Honor the roots

Yoga comes from Indian traditions. We name them, use Sanskrit with care, and give an English gloss the first time a term appears.

Meet people where they are

You can begin with one short practice. No account, no gear list, nothing to buy.

Support those who serve yoga

Teachers, studios and schools get a page at no cost, and tools to keep it accurate.

What costs nothing, and what doesn't

For everyone, at no cost

Every practice, program and teaching on yoga.org costs nothing. So does a page for any teacher, studio or school.

Featured, a paid option for owners, is coming later. It will always be labeled “Featured · paid” and never change the order of results.

Where money goes

The commercial side

Shop purchases and paid services for owners are provided by Wise Prince LLC on behalf of the Foundation, until its for-profit subsidiary, Yoga Ventures Inc., is formed. Purchases are not tax-deductible donations.
