Transcript

Hey everyone! So this week I am sharing a
yoga practice, an asana practice that helps to channel and engage Apana-Vayu.
So in yoga Apana-Vayu means the downward moving flow of energy engaging and
leaning into this flow of energy is really beneficial for those of you who
have a lot of anxiety a lot of Vatza in your system if you're familiar with that
headaches or even menstrual issues so let's go ahead and give this a try. I invite
you have to find your chair pose you can bring your feet to about hips distance
apart shift the weight back to the heels bend your knees and bring your hands to apana mudra so my thumbs are going to touch
the two inner fingers so a ring finger and middle finger and then let the
elbows rest on the ribcage in the hands directly so slightly outwards squeeze
the elbows toward the ribs cross your fields down slightly back
direct your gaze down towards the floor take a deep breath head and a super long
breath out we'll do two more like that with every
exhale feel your energy sink a little bit deeper Inhale, press down with the feet to
lift yourself back up, release the Mudra and sway from side to side for a moment,
feel the weight shift and pour from your left foot to your right foot... you might let out a sigh ... The again find yourself in chair pose and this turn will bring the
hands right to the tops of the thighs and then you might begin to straighten
the elbows and the press with the hands down into the legs to really pressing
downward here the weight is still back toward the heels and we'll find a little
bit of a walk up and down the thighs If you put coconut oil on this morning and you're wearing shorts your hands might be a little slippery like mine ... we're just letting
the hands gently massage up and down the thighs and simultaneously feel in
through your exhaling breath and you might even visualize from the pelvic
floor down to the earth a waterfall of beautiful crystalline energy moving
downward strong currents down, any color that you play you really feel that
energy down, down, down ... this is apana-vayu. Leave the hands up at the top of the thighs, press directly down take a deep breath in, slow smooth breath out the mouth ...slowly stand up close the eyes find apana mudra once more elbows hugging towards the ribs, see if you can take your breath down into your
pelvic bowl space and tune into the downward flowing
waterfall of energy from your pelvis down the legs through the sole of the
feet into the earth. Rou might visualize an actual lush jungle waterfall like we
have here in Panama they're so beautiful or it might just be more of that
waterfall action super strong downward flowing currents through the legs any
color light that you wish ... Stay with that for a couple more moments waterfall of energy from the pelvic bowl down into the earth. if the eyes are closed you might gently
open them release the mudra just notice them feel the effects of this practice
on your body. I know for me I can feel my legs and my feet a lot more that's a
sign that we've initiated and leaned into more of the flow of Apana-Vaui. I
hope you enjoyed this process and we'll see you next time ...
