Namaste. Today we are going to practice sushi mudra. Sushi means pointer or needle gesture. The origin is in ancient yoga and also in natya shastra this mudra is used. This is an energetic mudra which is used in order to improve the concentration. Now make a gentle fist of your hand. Extend the index finger and just with the thumb slightly press the middle finger. This creates a needle or pointer shape. Keep it on your thighs and close your eyes and deep breathing. I will repeat what are the benefits of sushi mudra. This mudra activates the agna chakra that is the chakra within the forehead. It command energy initiation. Sushi mudra is used in ancient yogic cras and pranic healing practices. This mudra is an energy direction. That means it channels prana to a single point like a laser beam. It helps to increase concentration and mental clarity. One of the most useful uh benefits of this mudra is Ajna chakra activation. That's this chakra. The single point focus is associated with stimulating this chakra. In yoga, this is a cleansing kria or a cleansing mudra. Some tradition use it to point downward during uh take uh doing while doing pranayama to align the spine and nadi pathways. In terms of mental and emotional benefits, this mudra promotes singlepointed awareness. It improves decision making clarity, reduces scattered thoughts and helps with discipline and intention setting what we call in Sanskrit salpa. So do this and have a sulpa or uh try to take a resolve. Spiritual signi sign significance in sha and tantric symbolism the extended index finger represents itashaki or willpower. It's like the path of dharma the needle of consciousness piercing the illusion. So do practice this beautiful sushi mudra for these benefits. While doing it you can hold any of the posture like padmasana sucasana or you can sit even bajarasana this is practiced and breathe very gently while practicing this mudra and uh do it in a consistent manner in order to reap its benefit.
