welcome to this series where we break down yoga pose alignment today's focus is Pigeon pose from down dark bring your knee behind the back of your wrist as you bend your front knee you can keep the foot close to your groin or Edge the foot further away the leg doesn't need to come to a 90° angle if you have sensitive knees keeping the front foot flexed and pressing the foot into the mat can really help the aim is to square the hips to the front of the mat so this means that the left and right side of your hips are Level so one side isn't High than the other this also means that both hipbones face forwards so they're pointing to the top of your mat if you're feeling lumps sited placing a cushion below the front leg can really help even things out to maintain Square hip alignment it can also help to internally rotate the back thigh this means rolling the back thigh in and also to help maintain this position press the back foot into the mat to engage the back leg
