How to practice Supported fish with Lisette Loogman

Opening our hearts allowing our heart energy to fully express ♡ Whilst we are in this pose we are opening up the front of our upper body: especially the chest and shoulders but it can also be felt in the stomach and if the neck allows it and the head is dropped back; the neck will receive a nice opening. You can experience a compression in your lower back as well.

Transcript

hi my name is lizette from the influence and in this video i'm going to show you how to practice fish pose so supportive fish pose is a pose that is mainly targeting our shoulders and chest really opening up our heart um for some people uh the pose um can feel quite exposed as we are really allowing our front body to to fully open um but let's see if we can get you into a nice fish pose and see if you can actually benefit from it so let's get started to come into fish pose you're gonna lay down on your back and what we're going to do is we're going to place support in between our shoulder blades so this can be anything if a block works for you you can use a block you might use a blanket as well i actually find it to be softer but you can use a bolster as well so it just depends on how much opening you like in your chest area and how much the neck allows you to um to open also because the support will be in between the shoulder blades make sure that the lower back stays unsupported and that the neck is unsupported if the neck allows it so to get into fish pose you're gonna sit down on the ground placing the support on your mat and just feel where you need to to place it so it's in the right position so when you feel this in between your shoulder blades you're gonna allow the head to drop back feel how this is for the neck and so the lower you really feel this compression in the lower back as it is unsupported and you'll probably feel this opening in the shoulders the chest so you're gonna allow the legs to just relax down if it feels better you could take a butterfly legs as well support the knees with pillows if it feels good and otherwise just keep your legs extended so you've got a few options here you can leave the hands next to the body let the arms drop down let them sink into the mat we're approximately staying here for two minutes eventually we can stay here up to five minutes but just feel how this is on your body and what you need today so there's a few options to come out of fish bows but the most gentle option is to roll onto your side and have a little rest rebound on your belly you can make a pillow with your hands placing one cheek down and have a little rest here so thank you so much for watching this video i hope you enjoyed it if you did then and i hope to see you again soon bye
