Kashyapa's Pose (bind twist)
Kasyapasana
Twist · advanced
How to
- Begin in a seated position with your legs extended in front of you, on a yoga mat.
- Bend your right knee and place your right foot flat on the mat, close to your left inner thigh.
- Inhale deeply, lengthening your spine upward, and as you exhale, twist your torso to the right.
- Wrap your left arm around your right knee, reaching for your right hand behind your back to create a bind.
- Ensure your left shoulder is relaxed and your chest remains open, with your right hand actively engaging in the bind.
- Focus on keeping your spine elongated, using each inhale to lengthen and each exhale to deepen the twist.
- Your gaze (drishti) should be towards your right shoulder, maintaining a soft focus.
- To exit, gently release the bind on an exhale, untwist your torso, and return to the seated position. Repeat on the opposite side.
