how i know that someone has the potential to become a really great yoga teacher is by how they practice and the questions they ask me in class [Music] when a yoga student wants to become a teacher there are several stages they have to go through it's important to first have a a personal practice and then once you've established that personal practice then you have to learn how do i verbalize this information and then they have to learn how to see their students the wonderful thing about lala's teaching is that i know where she wants me to go and i'm hopeful that one day i'll be able to do the same thing for my students that i'll be able to look at their bodies and know where they're trying to go but where they also need to go and know their limitations but still be able to help them find that point that they can work against their edges my teacher once said each joint is like a pearl on a strand and the hole needs to go through the very center of the pearl for it to be a beautiful necklace i offer several different levels of training starting with the most basic which is the life transformation training a 200 hour training a 500 hour training and a healing our backs with yoga therapy training my 200 hour training is a foundational training for people who really want to understand the basics of becoming a yoga teacher how to address students with different needs how to conduct a general class for the general population the loss training helped prepare me to be a teacher like she wouldn't let anyone graduate without being completely sure that they were a capable knowledgeable and professional teacher people who have taken other 200 hour programs will then come to my 200 hour program so they can refine their practice and deepen their understanding of all the yoga certifications that i've done so far that lella's program is the most thorough and most comprehensive the thing that's unique about my 200-hour training program is that all 200 hours are with me [Music] the 500 hour training is for people who want to fine-tune their skills i did my first training with lala 11 years ago that was my 200-hour yoga training when i came back to her for my 500 hour training i did think about exploring other yoga schools but what brought me back to lala is her ability to really access the poses in ways that i've not experienced with any other teacher in the professional training program it gives teachers an opportunity to go deeper and start understanding the subtleties of the poses and how to use language and how to sequence in a class that you simply can't learn in a 200 hour program it allows you to teach a class that is accessible for whoever is going to walk in through through the door people come in they have high blood pressure they've got back problems they've got other concerns they want to be able to help so that's what the 500 hour training is ideal for she was recommended to me by my teacher she said if you want to go to the top of the mountain that's where you go [Music] [Music] you
