The Kleshas are the obstacle on our yoga path that arise and are like veils, making us ignorant of our divine true nature. Dvesa is ...
oh well hello there you beautiful human I am Andrea Dawn and today we are here talking yoga philosophy we have been looking at the claas and the claas are the reasons why we suffer our afflictions and so the first one that we looked at is kind of the ultimate Veil that was aidia so that is this spiritual ignorance it's not knowing that we are the light of the Divine that that is within each and every one of us which makes us all actually the same and all of the other claas arise from this ignorance so last week we talked about Raga meaning our attachment to our likes so we're like running after the things that we like and we actually miss the present moment or we think we know what something's going to feel like because we've experienced it before and then we're chasing after that feeling this week is on the same side of that coin devasa it's an attachment all the same but it's running away from what we don't like so it's an attachment to our dislikes and here we get caught in running away numbing hiding right because we don't want to experience a feeling from our past so our perceptions color the way that we experience our entire day and we believe believe we think we know how something's going to feel and if we didn't like it then we're going to spend all of our time trying to get away from it when really the antidote would be to Simply feel that feeling because we know right we're not in that spiritual ignorance we know that we are the light of the Divine we know that that feeling is going to pass so if we don't spend all of our time running away then we can actually get to maybe what we're looking for which would be a little bit more joy and ease and peace so again each week I like to write and come up with really my own interpretation of all of the yoga philosophy to make it feel alive for me and I always encourage you to do the same the clas are the veils that obstruct who we are from who we think we are they are the blinding misperceptions that keep us lost lonely discontent and disconnected devasa is the distaste it is the disliking of people places things feeling feelings and so on when we are in the delusion of devasa we are usually running away hiding ignoring and numbing devasa and Raga or liking and disliking are addictive and they are and they both hold the immense power of deception the justifications made in the name of liking and disliking loving and hating agreeing and disagreeing have caused a colossal amount of heartache and more Bloodshed than we could ever come to terms with we do have preferences and our preferences certainly Drive the course of our life helping us make decisions about who we are in relations with where to live how we dress what we eat and what we do for work I don't believe it's the actual preference that is The Veil The Veil is when I believe I am the preference or the non- preference in this case and when I allow this to color my perspective so much so that my thoughts and my actions are blindly driven by them when I miss out on seeing my family because I refuse to go where the weather is cold or I ignore my weakening body because squats and pull-ups are hard this is devasa we are going to experience disliking disagreeing even hating these are all external Affairs of which cause us internal conf conflict this results in unconscious reactions unhelpful habits and ultimately decease this is why the practice of yoga leads us inside of ourselves first it is necessary to feel the feeling of the confliction the hurt the pain the jealousy the rage the insecurity the unworthiness the Injustice confronting and feeling what we are running from is the antidote we no longer have to run if we are not scared of what we're going to feel now we can Empower ourselves with our Yoga practices to know that these are temporary feelings that left unfelt will actually smother the light of our Divinity the cure to both Raga and devasa is the present moment when right here and right now are both the journey and the destination we can stop running to and from and simply make our arrival the Eternal an antidote wherever you go there you are my dear and I talked about this last week as the emergence but we could also think about it as the arrival the arrival is always into the unknown and when we allow ourselves to be in that trust and that knowing of our Divine Light we don't have to be scared of what's going to happen we know that whatever it is we can sit and feel the feelings that arise from that happening but that we are so much deeper so much more than all of that feeling so we don't have to run to and from we get to just be and isn't that a relief we get to just show up and in itself that is more than enough I hope this was helpful to your understanding please comment uh these videos will be coming to you every week from our home here in Guatemala we are creating our own Yoga Retreat space and so until then we get to YouTube together always a blessing honor and privilege my heart sees and feels and smiles to yours Namaste yogis
