This is not couple’s therapy where you need to cut open your wounds and address your problems over years of therapy sessions. Just by doing Acroyoga, you are doing the hard work and you don’t even realize it!
By working together and focusing on a common goal, you’ll strengthen the foundation of your relationship because you must tap into the way you truly see and hear one another. All while having a smile on your face.
We highlight 5 key areas that acroyoga touches on in this video: 1. Communication Communication is essential for Acroyoga. You and your partner learn to ask for what you need, to support one another, and to communicate on how best to work together. This practice also teaches non-verbal communication which allows you to feel your partner's movements and sense the feelings in their body. How often does your partner expect you to read their mind? Well, now you can! Learn to listen and feel, lead and follow, and tune-in to exactly what your partner needs.
2. Trust Acroyoga is the ultimate trust-building exercise. You must trust your partner as much as you trust yourself for this all to work. Your lives are in each other’s hands. Imagine the feeling of being able to reliably keep your partner safe and know that they are doing the same for you.
3. Intimacy You get very close to one another which makes acroyoga an intimate (but not sexual) practice by nature. Share with your partner what you like, explain what feels good, and describe what doesn’t. Bring this intimacy into your relationship as far as you and your partner want to take it. What better way to get close to one another this Valentine’s Day!? This highly intimate practice translates amazingly into building intimacy in your relationship.
4. Playfulness The term used for doing acroyoga is “playing” and for a good reason! You will have fun, laugh, and smile when you allow yourself to be in the moment with your partner. Often, playfulness is something powerful that we don’t get enough of in our relationships. Maybe it was there during that initial spark but if you don’t make it a priority then it can get lost in the seriousness of life. By making time for acroyoga, you will gift yourselves the opportunity to just play and have fun, like you used to.
5. Giving and Receiving How often do you step into your partner’s shoes and see things from their point of view? Not only does acroyoga help you understand the other’s perspective, but it also teaches you how to give and receive within your partnership. Learn to ask for what you need and be ready to receive it. Listen to what your partner wants and give it to them. Acroyoga will leave you and your partner feeling like a magic genie in a bottle capable of granting any wish while fulfilling your own.

TRANSFORM Your Romantic Relationships In 5 Fun Steps (build TRUST + PASSION) - The Acroyoga Show
Ksenia : Will you My Valentine
for Acroyoga? Brent: Today we've got a special
episode for Valentine's Day talking about Acroyoga and
relationships. Today we've got a special
episode brought to you by The Acroyoga Show in partnership
with Yogiapproved. Talking about Acroyoga and relationships.
We're gonna dive into our relationship, how it started and
how it benefits from Acroyoga. So Acroyoga has done wonders for
us and our relationship. It's the reason we met. And it's the
reason we've stuck together. Not the only reason but certainly a
catalyst for accelerating our relationship. It's taught us
trust, it's not as communication giving and receiving intimacy
and to be playful and enjoy life, which is all great things
that everyone can learn from and can improve their life with. So
we highly recommend you try now Acro, it's Valentine's Day is
coming up. So grab your partner, Acro is a great activity that
you can do together and go join, go have some fun and learn from
us and give Acro a try. Today we're going to talk about how
Acroyoga builds trust, communication, intimacy,
playfulness, and giving and receiving in a relationships. First, we want to talk about how
we met which was at Acro jam. Ksenia : Met this guy and other
friends there, I started to know him. And that moment, I almost
didn't speak English Brent: Acro really helped us
communicate. And because she didn't speak English all too
much Ksenia : Kind of hard, but
possible. And without verbal communication was just doing
practice Brent: We were able to
communicate through Acro, with the whole nonverbal part of the
practice. While playing with each other and over time and got
to build that foundation of communication. Bringing two
people from two different sides of the world. Acro also helps build trust in a
relationship really learn to trust one another because your
your life is in my hands, my life is in your hands. And I
remember in the beginning, she was very worried about falling. Ksenia : There just like scream
all the time. Brent: I can't do it! I can't do
it! After we built that trust and built that progress
together. Ksenia : It was interesting
process to trust other person and trust yourself Brent: Understanding it rather
than running away from it. And when you work on it together,
you can address those issues and move through it. And that's one
of the great things about Acro is you confront your fears and
your put faith face to face with it. Ksenia : You don't like, you
scared this way. Let's communicate here more, I will
say where am I? what I'm doing next moment and we will get it
and we got it. Brent: The benefit of Acroing
with a partner that you're in a relationship is that it builds
intimacy very quickly, you're very close to each other. You're
working together working on a common goal. Ksenia : Just know each other so
fast and deep. You're working together like team. Brent: Which is a great way to
build a relationship with someone else. Now it's not an
intimate practice by nature. So you don't need to have a partner
but if you do have one and you do Acro with them, it's a great
way to increase that intimacy with one another. You're
starting a romantic relationship or been in one for a while a
great way to have a goal that you guys can both work on
together in a fun and playful way. Acro does a great job of
teaching playfulness. Acro just allows us to be a kid again and
have some fun and play and laugh and fall and fail. And that's
all part of the process. Don't take it too seriously. Learn to
Play, learn to laugh, learn to love and enjoy life. When you
are working with someone else, you have to both give and
receive and Acro does a great ob of teaching you both of
hose roles. Ksenia : Having control and
releasing control. Brent: There's many times in
acro that you have to communicate with your partner
about what you want what you need, but also how you can help
your partner get what they need and what they want. Ksenia : It's really interesting
if you don't just practice, yo thinking how you're what you'r
gonna say to you there. And lik how your body's was partne
workin Brent: Really gives us some
insight into your own body and your own practice. As well as
your partner and understanding what is needed, but transfers
great into a relationship because many times we're in a
relationship but we don't communicate to our partner what
we need or what we want. And Acro is a great practice ground
to do that because you're constantly giving feedback back
and forth and understanding what is needed to accomplish the
pose. Ksenia : During practices start
to learn how to sometimes just relax, release. Your partner
will do everything for you. This now, you're just shoot like keep
your shape or just like relax, because if you will not, it's
not going to work right away. Brent: So it's a great way to
understand what the people around you need but also to tell
them what you need as well. So give Acro a try. It is an
awesome tool that you can use to elevate your relationships it
builds trust, communication, playfulness, intimacy and
teaches you how to give and receive with your partner as
well as understand your own needs. It's a great tool that
has helped our lives immensely. Thank you for watching this
special episode about relationship goals, and giving
you a deeper insight into our relationship. We hope you
enjoyed it.
