Begin seated on the floor with your legs extended forward in Dandasana (Staff Pose). Ensure your spine is upright and your hands are resting on the floor beside your hips.
Inhale deeply, lengthening your spine, and as you exhale, open your legs wide apart to a comfortable angle, ensuring your kneecaps point upwards and toes are flexed back towards your face.
Place your hands behind your hips to support your spine as you continue to lengthen the torso. Engage your quadriceps and gently press the thighs down towards the ground.
Inhale and lift your chest, keeping your spine long. As you exhale, slowly walk your hands forward between your legs, maintaining the length in your spine. Avoid rounding the back.
Allow your breath to guide you deeper into the pose with each exhalation, moving forward only as much as your body comfortably allows without strain.
Hold the pose for several breaths, focusing on deep, even inhalations and exhalations, allowing your body to relax into the stretch.
To exit, walk your hands back towards your body, bringing your torso upright. Gently draw your legs together back into Dandasana, using your hands to support the movement if needed.
