How to
- Begin in Warrior II pose on the right side, with your right foot forward and arms extended parallel to the floor.
- Shift your weight onto your right foot and right hand, placing your right hand on the floor or a block about 12 inches in front of your right foot.
- Straighten your right leg while lifting your left leg parallel to the floor and extending your left arm towards the ceiling.
- Engage your core, keeping your torso open towards the left side as you stack your shoulders and hips.
- Flex your left foot, pressing out through the heel, and keep the left leg strong and energized.
- Find a steady gaze (drishti) either at your left hand, or if balanced, look upwards.
- Breathe deeply, maintaining length in your spine and space between your shoulders.
- To exit, bend your right knee slightly, lower your left leg to the floor, and return to Warrior II.
