Instructions

✅ They can practice it once a day, that’s more than enough. ✅ My recommendation is either in the morning before breakfast (on non-exam days), or in the evening around sunset time (2hrs before bedtime). ✅ Trataka is great for kids (from 5-8yrs of age to until the age of 18-21yrs even) with eye sight issues. But make sure to REMOVE spectacles/contact lenses DURING the practice. ✅ Let there be minimum of 1 arm distance between the practitioner & the Deepam ✅ It is recommended to place the flame of the Deepam in the eye level to avoid straining of the neck and to help maintain a neutral position of the spine. ✅ After tears formed or rolled down the cheek, close the eyes, rub the palms and place their on the eyes for 5-8 seconds and then release before proceeding to Box Breathing. ✅ In Box breathing, make sure to maintain a count of 4 ONLY, neither more nor less - why? Because that itself is the practice! And we don’t want to strain those tiny lungs 🤗 ✅ Ideally these practices should be regular part of a student’s life. But at least around the time of exam (start minimum 1 month before the exam and also during the exam), they should practice it on daily basis. You can give a gap on every 4th day.

There are no contraindications to these practices, especially for kids. But if your kid is suffering from epilepsy, eye-pressure related issues, during the bouts of headaches etc, you can avoid the practice. In case of any other medical conditions, kindly consult your kid’s paediatrician before proceeding, for your confidence 🙌🏻💐

✨On a separate note, if you wish to teach your kids 30+ shloka-s for daily prayer along with authentic pronunciation, meaning, significance and so on, we’ve our 12-Day Nitya-Prarthana workshop happening in April. Consider it a family time cuz YOU ALL can join together (Parents, kids, grand-parents)!
