[Music] hey folks my name is kate i'm a yoga teacher inspiring a nimble approach to a joyful practice i am here with day 21 of your 30 days of transitions today we are going to talk about moving from revolved high lunge to side plank so go ahead and grab your blocks if you haven't already just a reminder warm up if you haven't this is not a full practice it is just breaking down the transitions so when you're ready go ahead and join me in revolved high lunge now if you're in your revolved highland with your hand outside of your foot i want you to go ahead and bring it inside your foot okay and our first transition we're gonna go ahead and put our back knee down excuse me okay and then we're gonna pivot this back leg and sweep the front foot out to the side so now we're in modified side plank from here you can adjust your block or get rid of it completely and then also adjust your side plank so if you want to make it here first and then step out to side plank that's a great option okay all right option two we're going to keep the back knee up all right so we're in our revolved side plank i'm going to move this block out of the way for now i'm going to put my hand all the way on the floor open up i'm strong through the middle so first i'm going to pivot onto the outside edge of my back foot i'm going to keep my hips nice and high i'm pressing into this hand and then i'm going to wiggle walk this foot out so i can sweep it into side leg okay so those are our two options one we just put the back knee down pivot into our modified side plank and then choose our side plank from there the other option is to keep that back knee lifted pivot onto the outside edge of the foot and then we sweep our front foot around to whatever variation of side plank would work for us so i hope you enjoyed this let me know how you like to make your way into side plank from high lunge and i will see you guys tomorrow [Music]
