There's often one mistake that I see yogis doing in a flow style yoga, power yoga, venyasa, whatever you want to call it, and that is the venyasa. So, here's the wrong way to do it. You're in plank pose and then as you lower down, I'll often see the shoulders collapsing, the chest collapsing, and then you come down, the hands are way too far forward. So, then you come into cobra and the shoulders hiked up around the ears. No bueno. What we want here is we want to be in plank pose and we want to shift the weight forward. Then once the weight is shifted forward, as you lower down, you're using your triceps and your core until you come down into your belly or chaturanga. And then you're set up for that nice, beautiful cobra backward bend. So if you want to practice yoga until you are 108 years old, more important than what you do is how you do what you do. And integrity matters.
