How to

  1. Begin seated on the floor with your legs extended straight in front of you.
  2. Place your hands on the floor slightly behind your hips, fingers pointing towards your feet, and lean back slightly, keeping your back straight.
  3. Engage your core muscles and lift your legs off the ground, bending your knees initially to bring your shins parallel to the floor.
  4. Once balanced, extend your arms forward alongside your legs, palms facing each other at shoulder height, ensuring your back remains straight and your chest open.
  5. If comfortable, straighten your legs to form a 'V' shape with your body, maintaining the balance on your sitting bones.
  6. Engage the hip flexors and draw your shoulders away from your ears, keeping your neck long and relaxed.
  7. Maintain steady and even breaths throughout the pose, focusing your gaze on your toes to help maintain balance.
  8. To exit the pose, gently bend your knees and lower your feet back to the floor, returning to a seated position.
