Vajrasana

Kneeling · beginner

Glossary: Vajrasana

How to

  1. Begin in a kneeling position with knees and feet together, sitting back on your heels.
  2. Ensure the tops of your feet are flat on the ground and big toes are touching.
  3. Place your hands on your thighs, palms facing down, and relax your shoulders away from your ears.
  4. Engage your core gently by drawing your belly button towards your spine.
  5. Lengthen your spine, imagining a string pulling you up from the crown of your head.
  6. Keep your gaze soft and forward, aligning with your natural horizon.
  7. Focus on your breath, taking slow, deep inhales and exhales through the nose.
  8. To exit, lean forward and shift your weight onto your hands, then gently rise back to a kneeling or standing position.
