hi i'm lola with yoga lola studios thank you for joining us today for some quick and easy exercises for your busy body what we're going to talk about today is the central nervous system and how yoga can affect stress and the central nervous system of the body here is a beautiful picture of the central nervous system you can see there's all different kinds of things going on in the body around the central nervous system and the central nervous system is composed of three parts the central nervous system the peripheral nervous system and the autonomic nervous system which is comprised of the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system all of these things work together in the body to create steady nerves being able to deal with pressure and stress as they come up in our lives they help us stay steady they have they help us keep going when the going gets tough one of the ways that yoga works with the central nervous system is it works intensively with the sympathetic and the parasympathetic part of that central nervous system some of the breathing techniques that we use directly impact those systems as well as many of the asanas and of course we work intensely with the brain when we do things like triangle pose for one or down dog for another so through the practice of yoga through the practice of the asanas and the breathing exercises we begin to strengthen different parts of the central nervous system that allows us to hold up under stress far better than if we're not working with yoga or breathing exercises to keep ourselves strong stable and centered so that's a little bit about how yoga helps our central nervous system stay strong so that we can stay strong and i want to thank you for joining us here today and see you next time you
