hi I'm Kino McGregor today we're here at Miami life sensor and I'm going to be discussing how to choose the thickness of a yoga mat when you're new to yoga you probably want to choose a mat that's appropriate for your level if you're practicing on a wooden floor or a hard floor you want to make sure that the mat has enough thickness to support your wrist so I've brought today three different densities of yoga mats this is more like a travel mat that's thinner if you like to feel the floor underneath you and you like a thin mat this is a great mat provides a lot of good traction and you'll be able to really feel the floor underneath you but it's also a little bit thin so if you're at all sensitive to the hardness of a floor you would want to go for a medium or a more thick mat this is a medium density mat which is built to last and is nice and firm but at the same time is light so you can carry it around and it's a perfect mixture between being light and easy to carry and provided with the firmness and the thickness to give you support for your joints if you want something that's really really thick you can go for one of these black Matts that's really thick they're a little bit heavy but they're guaranteed to be super thick and a lot of cushion so these are three great examples of different thicknesses in a yoga mat I'm Kino McGregor and this is how to choose thickness of a yoga mat
