Here is a quick video demonstrating how to do Agnistambhasana or firelog pose, also called burning log, double pigeon and square pose.
You can use this in your personal practice or as a study aid for yoga teacher training.
Here are some benefits to doing this pose: Stretches the muscles around the hips, the groin, gluteus, quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. May help in the case of irritable leg syndrome. This is a wonderful hip opener. May improve the flexibility of the knees. May help to avoid arthritis in the knees.
This pose activates the root chakra, Muladhara. This can help with confidence and endurance in all aspects of life.
Are there any poses you would like me to demonstrate?
