Do you not have yoga props for your at home yoga practice?

No worries. In this video I show you how to use household items instead of yoga props. The so called Traditional Yoga Props came to be once Yoga came to the West. Although I've gotten to love them, not having them shouldn't hold you back from practicing.

I know since the pandemic, more are practicing yoga from home. Even though studios are starting to open up for in person classes, the size of the classes are limited for social distancing and you have to wear a mask.

If you're an empath or highly sensitive person like me, you still prefer to practice at home. It truly has become a sacred space just for you.

Please let me know which household item you like best to use as yoga props in the comments.

Feel free to get creative with the props and come up with your own too. Share them with us in the comments too.

I you have any questions or requests for a topic you would like me to cover, please comment below as well.

aloha this is steph with turtle flow welcome to my channel today i'll be sharing with you the household items you can use at yoga props so i don't know about you but a lot of us are practicing from home and traditionally when you go to yoga studio you have the traditional yoga props so often times i will demo with these especially for the mean yoga um so it's usually the mexican blankets that we fold very specifically for certain poses um a strap and bolster so if you don't have these you can still practice from home and get all the benefits from the poses um so what you can use are just regular bed pillows and if you want more height you can double up the two bed pillows so this would be good for either putting them under your knees for lower back support like this when you're in shavasana or when you're just lying down or even like when you're doing forward folds in fact i will show you like if you have really tight hamstrings you can either have a blanket under you like this and if you want to fold forward you can um use a strap sometimes to even um help you fold you are not able to reach the toes flip your strap and pull like this with the spine straight engaging the core if you don't have a strap you can use fabric built from either your dress or your bathrobe or for men you can use necktie so that could be used for you that a strap [Music] another way to use the blanket on the pillow another another way to use the pillow is to do a fish variation of shavasana for hard opening and then you can use two pillows if you want to double up or you can do declined bound angle pose [Music] i mean throw a blanket [Music] from your couch or your bed and if you don't have a bolster you can also just use a blanket or if you don't have too many props you can just have one blanket to use as a bolster or to roll under your knees and you just roll done [Music] like under the knees now the way to use a blanket is when you're all fours and your knees are sensitive then you can just have a thin blanket to pad your knees and then when you set forward you can have a flop underneath your hands to step your foot forward and if you don't have blocks you can use books but make sure it's thick enough so you can support so thicker the better but you don't want it to be too heavy another option is instead of books [Music] you can use water bottles and something like this would work really well to do either a side angle [Music] or a triangle you can use it to do or folds [Music] so [Music] those are some of the ways you could use the blankets and your household items to use as yoga props if you don't have yoga props and then you know it's easier to do these practices with the actual yoga props but you you'll get just as much out of it without you can be resourceful with what you have so don't let not having yoga props stop you from practicing so let me know in the comments below what your favorite yoga props are and then sometimes you don't even need to use any of the props um so i hope um you have a wonderful rest of your day or evening thank you so much for watching i hope this helped and it was a bit messy but hopefully it helped and if you have any questions or just have a favorite way you want to share feel free to comment below and make sure to if you haven't thank you for being part of the turtle flow so fam namaste and go within and find your inner sparkle you
