Begin in a seated position with legs extended straight in front of you in Dandasana (Staff Pose).
Cross your right foot over your left thigh, placing the sole of your right foot flat on the floor beside your left knee.
Twist your torso to the right, placing your left elbow outside your right knee and your right hand on the floor behind you for support.
Engage your core muscles and plant your hands firmly on the ground beside your hips, fingers pointing forward.
Lift your hips off the ground as you bend your elbows, shifting your weight onto your hands. Extend your left leg out to the side, keeping it off the floor.
Engage your core and thighs to maintain balance, keeping your gaze (drishti) forward and slightly down to maintain alignment.
Hold the pose for a few breaths, maintaining a steady and calm breath.
To exit, lower your hips back to the ground gently and return to a seated position before switching sides.
