hey what's up guys my name is Josh Kramer and welcome to a quick yoga tutorial you won't need any props for this but if you have a couple of blocks and you want to experiment with that grab those and I'll meet you back to you on your mat [Music] so the yoga pose we'll be working on today is an arm balance grasshopper pose what we're gonna do is I'll quickly demonstrate a way that I like to come into this pose sometimes that's all you need to make all the difference it's not going to be focusing too much on the intricate details such as hand placement shoulder Anatomy I just want to give you a quick tutorial about how I like to come into this pose and that's what helped make all the difference for me so come into a cello chair pose what we'll do is we'll cross our right ankle over our lift thigh or the top of our left knee and what I want you to do is bring your hands into prayer and I want you to twist it to the lift so bring your right elbow or the top of your tricep into the inner sole of your right foot find that twist first from here bring your hands down onto the mat and come into a low squat so right now what I found is my right foot is planted firmly on the top of my right arms tricep and I'm going to start adjusting myself slightly so I've got my nice framed hand placement just as you would for any other arm balance like crow pose hands shoulder with the pot fingers spread nice and active my triceps and my elbows will keep hugging together stack the weight so I'm really pressing into the top of my right tricep now with that right foot lift the hips up slightly bring the weight fully onto your hands lastly when yet left foot comes up you can extend the left foot to the right flex the foot if you need to gaze out alongside and you can start to play around with your shoulder adjustment here but that's how I like to come in to that pose I'll demonstrate that again on the opposite side but just so you know that's how I like to come into this pose so let's demonstrate that on the opposite side so what we'll do come into our shallow chair pose cross your left ankle over the top of your right thigh twist to the right bring your fingertips towards the mat and step your left foot on top of your left tricep start to adjust yourself in that mini squat bring your right elbow into your right hip so that's another stacking point for you to use if you choose shift the weight forward chin comes towards the ground right toes hover and lastly straighten out so right now it's stacked on my right hip and come out of it so that was a very quick tutorial for you just giving you a little tip about how I like to come in - grasshopper post I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial I'll see you next time
