[Music] means connection or log maybe you're familiar with the term mulat chakra the root chakra mula is the root adhara means support or the base so it's the support the base on the root of the spine mullet you just need to contract the area around the private parts the perineum muscle there's three different muller bonders the first one would be the front one where you contract the genitals like if you have to urinate but you try to hold it back the second one would be the back one the anus like you have to pass stool but you hold it back and the third one is between genitals and anus the perineum muscle and in this video we will focus on the middle one on the perineum muscle there's also an active and a passive way to perform mullabander so the passive way would be you sit on a heel and you put it on the perineum muscle like this like slightly a small touch and then you hold siddhasana this would be already an activation or you can put a tennis ball or a sock it's also fine in this video we're going to focus on the active mullabander there's also four different types so the first would be you hold mullabanda during the whole pranayama session second one you hold mullabanda only with the inhalation during the breath fold and as soon as you exhale you let go of the mulabanda before the exhalation you let go the third one would be that you only apply muller bundle during breathford this that is the one i prefer usually i use it during the prefold it's also a great way to use it doing meditation to just sit down and contract mulabanda and focus on the nadi on the subtle energy channel along your spine how the energy goes all the way to your third eye you can also meditate about it it's very powerful and it also draws all the energy from the root from the earth and gives you all the energies you need so whenever you feel tired lack of energy you can just apply mulabander and the fourth one would be that you're with me kelly contract mulabanda contract let's go contract let go contract let's go you can also use it in a way like use the the front one the middle one the back one front one middle one back one like waves in an ocean that's also a possibility the idea behind mullabander is to awake the sleeping snake by daily and with the right practice you will create enough heat in the pelvic floor in the pelvic area to burn out all the energetic blockages what are hindrances on your spiritual path that you can activate your full spiritual potential the kundalini shakti benefits of mulabander it lowers blood pressure levels and provides relief from respiratory problems it aids digestion and helps in providing relief from gas and constipation it helps in awakening self-awareness and consciousness it helps in relieving menstrual cramps and pain in women it is very grounding but in the same time highly energizing mullabanda is stabilizing and calming mulapanda accompanies both pranayama and meditation and it provides continuity when breeding practices are completed and meditation begins mullabanda can also be used during the whole pranyama process so we stop the direction of upper naval or the air what moves downwards find yourself in a comfortable sitting position keep your spine straight and the rest of the body relaxed take a couple of deep rhythmic breaths just to center yourself a bit more and to go deeper within inhale into your nose and squeeze the perineal muscle fill up your top parts of your lungs with fresh prana and keep the mulabander active during the breath fold release the bundle and exhale slowly fully out again mulabanda inhale deeply belly diaphragm chest hold the breath squeeze the perineum muscle and then open the bundle and slowly exhale and again mullabanda inhale keep squeezing hold the breath open the lock and exhale slowly inhale without mulabanda squeeze the perineal muscle and hold the breath open up and exhale slowly inhale slowly without mulabander activate mulabanda and hold the breath open the perineal muscle again and slowly exhale variation free active mullabander inhale fully into the top parts of the lungs hold mullabander and hold the breath and exhale by holding mulabanda inhale fully hold the breath and rhythmically contract the pelvic floor muscle contract release contract release contract release and let go exhale slowly now we do nadi shodhana alternate nostril breathing apply mulabanda the whole dime close the right nostril and inhale to the left close both nostrils exhale to the right keep mulabanda active inhale to the right nostril close both and exhale to the left you can also apply mulabanda during the breath fold but there's many different variations mullabanda doing kappalabadi inhale exhale activate mulabander and couple of body forced exhalation passive inhalation exhale open mullabanda inhale relax relax the breathing make it more soft more slow more calm and feel the effects of mulabanda feel inside your body recognize acknowledge what is happening within you feel the connection to the earth and make your breathing deeper and calmer and munabanda is very energizing and very grounding so you can practice it at any
