If increasing flexibility, loosening tight hips, reducing back ache is what you want, then capotasana is for you. You can begin with sutta kapotasana which can help stretch the muscles around your hips and then progress to supported pigeon. If you can stay in this pose for about 30 seconds to a minute, then you can move on to resting pigeon or to capotasana.
