Transcript

welcome to their own yoga everryone today we'll talk about maybe the most important and most foundational thing in yoga you je breath with je breath victorious breath is one of the three pillars of the astanga vinyasa tradition though I would say it's as important in any other yoga practice and even in our daily life who je is a practice where we breathe through the nose and yoga we always creep through the nose but as it passes through the nose then goes down through the throat we restrict slightly our throat restricting our glottis this creates a soft sound which is nice because it gives us this one more thing to focus on throughout class the point of awareness it also helps us control the breath to be more even so it's not quicker at the beginning or at the end and it helps us also stretch the breath so it can manage to follow our movements as well as heat the body so the way we practice so Jane is one way to get the feeling of it is pretend that you're holding your sunglasses in front of you doesn't matter which brand just sunglasses open your mouth and fog them like you were going to clean them you can feel a bit in the throat and you can obviously hear a sound I'm going to try and do the same thing with the lips closed but by sunglasses and now a little more challenging doing the same thing on the inhale so I'm constantly breathing lips closed breath going through the nose but passing through the slightly restricted throat for some of you is super easy for some of you will take some practice to get there and that's normal keeping the UJA alive so as I'm taking my arms up and I'm inhaling it's a full breath to take the arms up and we'll be one full inhale it'll be a full exhale as a forward fold they would je especially for me personally the inhales are a little challenging to get them longer helps me restrict it just a bit so it seems like there's less breath coming in but on the contrary really there's more breath it's just controlled slower so I can actually breathe through the entire movement so really start to pay attention to your breath as you practice whether it's simple hands down to the heart it's a full exhale that's what the instruction of vinyasa is movement with breath if I go like this it's not really a vinyasa practice right so we want to place the movement with the breath one last thing join me on this one inhale the arms up and together exhale you'll say this will transform your practice not only will you leave calm or softer you'll have more energy and you'll be able to train your mind better to stay super focused so practice UJ if you know anybody that practices yoga send them this link share this with them it is so important to do something good for the world ok thank you all leave us comments some likes and we'll see you soon either here with another video or come visit us down in Guatemala at the Douro neo gang Zen Center namaste
