with the research literature shows in folks with depression is more asymmetries between the right and left hemisphere than you see in the controls and so what yoga practice can do is help us to create greater symmetry help us to create greater connectivity across the corpus callosum and also help people to energize naturally using their endogenous neurotransmitters as opposed to substances and we do this in many many different ways but there's two big ones to understand which is that every pose has a certain energetic effect on the body and then the way that you breathe with that pose catalyzes that effect
