Instructions

Come to a comfortable seated posture on the floor or on a chair. Rest your hands on your knees, palms facing up. Close your eyes and start chanting Sa Ta Na Ma out loud in a singing style for 3 minutes, while touching the thumb to each finger. Chant Sa (Universe) and touch the thumb with index finger (for wisdom), then Ta (Life) with the thumb and middle finger (for patience), then Na (Death) with the thumb and ring finger (for energy), and then Ma (Rebirth) with the thumb and pinky finger (for communication). After chanting out loud, you will then do it while Whispering for 3 minutes, and then silently in your head for 3 minutes. After those 3 rounds, you will reverse it by starting with the exercise silently for 3 minutes, then whispering for 3 minutes, and ending with chanting/singing for 3 minutes.

Benefits: Sa Ta Na Ma is an extended way of saying Sat Nam (Truth is my name). It has tremendous power to clear the subconscious of past pain and the merging of one’s consciousness with the Infinite.

*Before beginning the exercise, tune in with the Adi Mantra "Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo" (x3) meaning "I bow to the teacher/guru within".

*Close the practice with hands together at your chest. Chant “Sat Nam”, meaning “Truth is my Name”. Bow forehead to the floor.
