We are so often marketed a million different supplements to suppor us when we travel, but the truth is that high fiber/ high priten meals, lots of movement, regular sleep schedule, a mindfulness practice and keeping the alcohol to a minimum is going to make a bigger difference than any supplement you take!
I used to come home from big trips feeling depleted and often had a hard time enjoying myself because my digestion would flare or I would be too anxious to enjoy the vacation.
Now, I make sure that I am prioritizing myself and my health when I travel. This allows me to enjoy the vacation fully and come home feeling rested and refreshed.
What are some of the strategies you employ to maintain your health while on the go?
I just got back from a 10-day vacation in Greece and as someone who used to always come back from vacation feeling floated and tired and just not my best physically or mentally I wanted to share five of my top tips for staying healthy on vacation so that you can actually enjoy your vacation and feel good when you come home so the first thing that I really focused on is making sure that all of my meals are high in fiber and protein this is something that I do at home but I find it's especially important when I'm traveling the next thing I focus on is getting lots of movement I usually average about 15 to 20,000 steps per day plus I try and sneak in a few workouts find that this makes a huge difference when it comes to my mental health physical health and my sleep the next thing is having some sort of morning mindfulness practice this is something I really prioritize when I'm back at home and I find that sticking to my normal routine as much as possible makes a huge difference the next thing is limiting alcohol and again this is something I do in my day-to-day life and the last thing is sticking to a normal sleep schedule I know on vacation it's so tempting to sleep in or stay up late but really sticking to a consistent sleep schedule always gives you the most benefit
