NADI SHODHAN PRANAYAM | WHERE TO HOLD THE BREATH | HOW TO PRACTICE KUMBHAK | @PrashantjYoga Nadi ...
when we learned Nadi shodam pranayam or simply kumbhaka retention we hold the Breath Right In Yoga few practitioners they hold the breath in the chest few practitioners they hold the breath upper body few lower body but what is the proper area where we need to carry this Prana and the force of Prana to hold the breath in today's video I am going to cover this topic stay tuned watch complete videos so you understand proper see to all yogis welcome back to your YouTube channel Prashant Jay yoga as I mentioned earlier when we practice retention kumbhaka holding breath in pranayama or any other pranayama that you do we just simply hold the breath but which part of the body you basically need to hold the breath as I as you know before in my previous videos many times I explain that navel is a center part of the body but below the navel two to three finger below the navel this is the area in Sanskrit we say kand in pranayam we say kand what is a kand Kan is a small flower when the flower is small just growing small flower this shape of this small flower is like what like the front part of airplane or rocket right so this is the area which is called Khan and this is the area is considered as the originated all the naris nadis are energy channels which carries The Prana and help this chronic energy to circulate throughout the body so in this area when we have 72 000 energy channels even more than that in some ancient scriptures so these 72 000 nadis start from below the navel the area called Khan so when you hold the Prana when you hold the breath so you should not hold on the chest many people they have a habit when they hold and they hold or they hold upper no no so all the time during the practice of pranayama and kumbhaka chest is relaxed completely it's not a chest breathing we have a habit why because we have been listening and learning that the lungs are responsible for breathing of course it is but in pranayama it's different we work with this center point where we need to carry The Prana and through this is a door from where The Prana goes inside even the baby in womb connected here so this is the center area where we have to focus so when you hold your breath simply do nari show them if you are doing or just simply holding relax the chest completely and expand the belly as much as possible and that much expand where the pressure started increasing below the navel so you will if you do correctly you will see the pressure here there are few requirements to feel this pressure and few requirements to understand I'm doing correctly or not always hips higher when you are doing in sitting position so in that case this area is free okay and you can carry more and more pressure more and more breath so longer you will hold better you will feel better you will work with a proper energy flow so if you touch touch the ribs so when you touch here and relax the belly you will see that this area is like a balloon so when you do nari show then or when you take a breath in you expend it like a balloon as much as possible and then hold longer those who are not doing simply practicing kumbaka they can hold 30 to 35 seconds but for initial state in nadishudan we hold 48 seconds just simply hold inhale not in normal inhalation one nostril close an Australia and hold 48 second if you are beginner cannot do 48 start with 30 35 and after a few seconds few practices you will start feeling the pressure here and this pressure what it does how it works so when you carry The Prana and holding so this and when you're not allowing your exhalation to happen when you're holding the breath so this pressure hit this area in the navels below the naval Center in this kand area which I just mentioned and this hit you open the channels slowly slowly when you hit when you carry The Prana a lot you push this door to open the door of the energy channels and this is how the Prana forcefully enters and nourish your whole body and this is how the pranayama works this is how the nari should the pranayam works which is called purification of energy Channel so next time when you practice don't work here relax this area simply sit straight inhale left the chest and all the time carry the breath here and then hold here you should not feel throat you should not feel chest neither your half stomach completely here okay those who want to learn narishodan I have prepared the video previously I will also share the link in description you can go and check and learn proper way of doing narishodan with deep explanation if you are new to this Channel and share this video to help others that is your contribution I hope you like this video such kind of video I will bring again stay tuned Namaste see you soon
