Benefits of Prasarita Padottanasanna: It is an excellent posture to strengthen the back and makes your legs supple as well as strong. It improves hip flexibility and blood circulation to the upper part of the body which is good for the heart and brain.
- Keep your legs medium width apart and toes pointed forward - Hands-on the hip. Make sure heels are in one line with the toes pointing forward - Inhale roll shoulders back, lengthen the spine - As you exhale, bend from the hip and hold on to the ankles. Inhale and lengthen - As you exhale, continue to grip on the ankles and bend forward - Elbows slightly bent, look at the back. Make sure shoulders are not shrugged - Once you are done with a few breaths, as you inhale, head up and chest up, hands on the hip, come up and then the hip is the last one to move. - Then slide your feet in slowly
