YOGA WITH NUTAN SUPPORTED SHOULDERSTAND POSE Sanskrit Name – Salamba Sarvangasana Sanskrit Name Meaning ...
hi everyone welcome to yoga with nathan in today's video we're going to learn how to do selam sarvang asana which is actually nicknamed the queen of arson it stands for supported shoulder sound so when you're ready let's get started i'd like us all to take comfortable seats close our eyes and take a few deep breaths inhale and exhale inhale and exhale so supported shoulder stand usually comes before savasana it's a well it's an inverted yoga posture that energizes your whole body definitely works out your core muscles and when done correctly feels incredibly comfortable and soothing it's thought to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety it can be challenging but once you practice it enough it should become second nature to you when you're ready open your eyes from here we're going to do some cat cow we want our spine to be aligned so i think this is the um one of the best prep poses to get into so we'll start off with our hands directly underneath our shoulders and our knees directly underneath our hips we're going to inhale and exhale inhale and exhale inhale and exhale one more inhale exhale from here we're going to sit back on our heels in radrasana take a couple of deep breaths enjoy the stillness and enjoy this time that you've taken for yourself now when you're ready we're going to lie flat on our backs so get yourself in a comfortable position on your mat we'll take a few deep breaths inhale and exhale we can even take the palms of our hands and place them on our stomach so when we inhale we can feel our stomachs expand and when we exhale we can feel it contract now the purpose of putting our palms there is to actually feel our breath and our bodies synchronize it's all part of the um yoga flow inhale and exhale now when you're ready we're going to hug our knees into our chest sway gently from side to side and then take our hands and place them down onto the ground by our sides from here we can push our legs upwards take our hands place them on the small of our back for support and just adjust yourself here breathe in and out you can move your legs all the way back if this is available to you okay to exit the pose suspend your legs slowly allow your body to fall down to the ground and relax take a couple of breaths inhale and exhale and now and exhale now turn your body over to one side and get yourself up into a comfortable seat so that was my video on supported shoulder stand i hope you enjoyed it if you have any comments or any questions please leave them below and if you haven't already to my youtube channel yoga with nothing thank you namaste
